Every year I keep my eye peeled for the first Xmas
ads of the season. Last year it was Oct 16. Just saw
my first one for 2011. It was a Kmart ad about shopping
now and paying in January. Oct 7th. Xmas is over 2 1/2
months away. The retailers will make it Sept 30th next
year, mark my words.

Last year it was about Sept 25th. Saw my first
Xmas ad of the year just now, Santa and reindeer and
everything. Sept 13th.
2010 it was Oct 16th.
2011 it was Oct 7th.
2012 was Sept 25th.
2013 its Sept 13th.
Christmas is more than 3 1/2 months away. Look
for Labor Day as being the kickoff next year.

I haven't seen any ads but at the costco near me they have had trees and outdoor lighting on display for over a month already.
The grocery stores have also had halloween candy for the past 2 weeks.

It's way too early for me.

Yeah, but Christmas is the best. Christians just stole it from the Mithrans, who stole it from the druids, who stole it from the pagans, who stole it from the Egyptians. And now, if Fox News is correct, it's in the process of being stolen by the gods of Commercialism and Political Correctness. And the wheel keeps turning....

It started way before that, yes I realize you're just
being comical. It started in 1957 when I got that
Lionel set I asked Santa for.
Remember the Santa scene in Christmas Story? We
had the same thing in the big dept store downtown
in the 50's only our slide wasn't as big. Geez that
was exciting.

See, you used the apostrophe in "There's" - mission complete. I see its/it's/there/they're/their mistakes all the time on the board/internet... and live with it. But, when there's a mistake in a title, I die a little inside.

A grammer mistake has you dying inside? Really? I mean, really?
All the problems in the world and you let somebody making a
grammer mistake ruin your day? Wound a litte tight, aren't you?
