CHIP off the old block sounds the most appropiate. And, yes, he has already been pardoned for his error by his father and is applying for the reward for solving the case.

See swift justice works.
Did the LV Metro get him? I didn't see where he was shot.

My understanding is that they don't shoot public servants or close relatives, just public.

Interesting that isn't going to be charged with a drug-related offense even though they found a large quantity of narcotics on his possession.
He may have already copped a plea, or the police screwed up gathering the drug evidence.

He's awfully cute and young and because he used a gun in the robbery, he'll be in prison long enough to make some really good friends among the big friendly inmates who like to take cute young men under their wing.. What an idiot.

I like how he made $10k in transactions between Dec. 14 and Dec. 23rd
Then, the cops did a "field interview" with him on Jan. 3rd. (maybe they were knocking on the door of everyone who owned that model of motorcycle)
THEN played enough to lose $107k, AFTER being visited by the cops, and got arrested in the Bellagio.
If he had even a single brain cell, he would have thrown those chips in a dumpster after the cops visited him.

Sticking a $25K chip into the pocket of a Salvation Army bell ringer ... priceless.

I would have to defer to you on this. I am not the expert you seem to be on this topic.

The article said he owed $250,000 to the mob, so, presumably, he was already a high-rolling loser, and didn't arouse suspicion when cashing in the stolen chips.Quote: dudestupidI like how he made $10k in transactions between Dec. 14 and Dec. 23rd.
FYI: It was NINE transactions, over $10K.

I'm not concerned with who gave him so much credit that he got in over his head but more with why they gave him so much credit. He didn't get in hock to the casinos.
He was desperate and talkative. What a combination.
His girlfriend had 16 chips. That is an unusual number. Perhaps she was able to move four of them?
That guy who bought one for ten grand is Out Of Luck and surely knew what he was doing.
You know, if they simply were to auction off the evidence with each chip in sealed plastic with an authentication stamp that it was part of the heist and has now been withdrawn from circulation, they could raise a whole bundle to pay all the costs involved in this case.
