Much to my surprise, while they seem to have expanded their used casino playing cards area, the dice were nowhere to be found - the only ones available were of the generic dimestore variety.
I would have gone to my usual other haunts (Gamblers General Store, Viva Vegas) to see if they had them again (GGS has them, but the last time I was there, it wasn't much of a collection), but my electric car's charge was running low, so I headed back home for a charge.
Quote: ChumpChangeI paid like $5 for a pair of used casino dice at their gift shop like over 20 years ago. It was kind of a thrill to get them but also quite a letdown since they drilled a big hole in the dice to mark them unplayable. I wouldn't be able to use them for tossing simulations. I used another pair of smaller dice I had to learn some dice setting.

I was surprised that they appear to have stopped doing that.
They do it for a reason - so you won't load the dice and then try to put them in play at the casino.
It reminds me of the recent story about someone who took an active die from a craps table at Red Rock and swallowed it; the casino took all of the dice out of that color out of play for a few weeks.

It took that long for him to crap (it) out?
I will cherish my white dice with black pips from Gold Coast!

... that's horrible.
You need to place some hardways bets and think about what you've done.

I want to say TCS John Huxley.

I am not sure if they sell to private individuals, even through distributors.

When I went to G2E I remember that they were advertising dice, both in the Craps and Sic Bo variety - one had spiky corner while the other was rounded. I don’t think that Dieter is using AI. I’m think there are other manufacturers from what I can remember but I don’t remember the names.

Well, it used to be GPI out of Kearney, MO, but as I understand, they went broke after a little kerfuffle about not actually shuffling "preshuffled" Gemaco decks... and their assets "became available" for incorporation within another organization's portfolio...
And a fellow I know with a colorful past told me exactly where that came from- a prison machine shop. In prison card playing is allowed and encouraged because that is considered a social activity, but dice are banned because craps is nothing but gambling. The dice are even taken out of board games and they have to find some other way to randomize. And sometimes that means making your own dice and if they have a machine shop for training that's one of the things they will make illicitly.
