First of all it's not baited breath it's 'bated' breath, taken from the word abate. What would baited breath even mean, how would you bait your breath. Secondly, to which cat are you referring. I currently have 16 cats could be 17 pretty soon.

Bait, as in fishbait, seemed more appropriate given the cat discussion.
