Quote: IAchance5So far, I have made the decision to visit the Palms and downtown casinos on my upcoming trip to vegas (staying at Paris)....but is there any reason from a gambling standpoint to visit any properties on the northern strip? (i.e. Stratosphere, Circus Circus, etc.)
Well...not really. Circus Circus has relatively low limits, but the atmosphere (kids...LOTS of kids) makes it not worth it. Plus, you're kind of isolated there--the Riv is the only other place to go within easy walking distance, since the Sahara and the Strat aren't all that close (and the walk there is not exactly confidence-building). The only reason I would stay at CC is that the rooms are cheap, the steakhouse is very good, and I can hop on the Deuce right outside to go someplace else to gamble.
CC I admit the "Big Top" area is fun but once you have seen it no need to return. They have Whack a Mole if that's your thang.

If you're interested in 10x odds craps at the Stratosphere. But of course you can get better than that at Main Street Station Downtown, 20x, and at Casino Royale they have 100x. The other thing at the Strat is crapless craps. I've never played it.

Crapless craps sounds great but it I did the math on it and it has about 4x the house advantage as regular craps. I haven't checked what it is for sure, maybe it's at wizardofodds site.
Here's the Wiz' page on Crapless Craps.Quote: clarkacalCrapless craps sounds great but it I did the math on it and it has about 4x the house advantage as regular craps. I haven't checked what it is for sure, maybe it's at wizardofodds site.
The short review is this: It screws with your head. Don't bother.
Sahara is a dump but its a dump filled with history.
In general though, its a vast wasteland bordering on crack town and you would do much better either on the real strip or downtown but not in the fringe area of the northern strip and its failed construction projects.
I recommend the all-day pass if you want to get the view both in day time and at night.
