Run away, children! Gambling is eeeeeeeevil!
Actually, the segment was sort of interesting. I never really considered how slot machines might actually be potentially more addictive than something like roulette.
It was also kind of weird how Governor Rendell got so emotional when pressed about why he helped legalize gambling. And I do think he's wrong about the close proximity of casinos not creating new gamblers - I'm a personal testament to that.

He's definitely wrong. People who've never gambled before, especially women, get hooked on the slots when the casino is close by. Slots are addictive just like video games are addictive, whats the difference.

Forget slots. Look at state lotteries. The best is the "lil bit o luck" commercials in NY. "1 in 9 are winners".
NY has lottery numbers that go off every 5 minutes all day. talk about a bad gamble.
