Did anyone else get an email from, or at least claiming to be from, a settlement involving a data breach from MGM?
Apparently, since my drivers' license number was part of it, so I am guessing that somebody got into the MGM Rewards database, I am entitled to a $50 settlement.
It doesn't look like a scam, as the form I needed to fill out had my name, address, and phone number prefilled, and they didn't ask for any other personal information.

I'd wait and see what comes out about this. There shouldn't be any rush to settle. Lots of information on the internet, some of it conflicting.

I got it, and came here to see if there's any discussion on it.
I usually ignore these email settlement notices, but this time I want to explore the pros and cons and maybe submit a claim.
Does anyone have anecdotes about potential downsides?

If you don't want to submit a claim, at least submit an opt out request. If you do nothing, you will be subject to the settlement regardless, with no benefit to you.

I guess my SSN was exposed because I’m in category 1 entitled to $75. Whoopee!
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people.

Mrs. Joeman and I both got them. $50 for each of us for DL info. Neither of us have ever gotten a hand pay at MGM, so no reason for them to have our SSN.
I imagine this stems from their hack/ransomware incident last year.

I submitted my claim. It was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
