Quote: kaubojHow many of you gambling enthusiasts would like to see a new game show on local tv based of three wonderful casino games, craps, blackjack and roulette?
I think all of these have already been done. In fact roulette variant "Wheel of Fortune" is one of the most, if not the most successful game shows in history (although I still like Jeopardy better).
Blackjack on TV doesn't transfer very well (remember "Gambit"?) It will be a challenge to keep it interesting and exciting.
Craps on TV could be great, but please, please, please don't use giant dice (ala, "High Rollers"). That is not craps.
I believe this is going to be tried again in the near future.
but i think just craps would get boring... thats why i say have three games and each round a different game is played..
though would be cool if you could give viewers options on their tv which angles they are viewing from...
It was screened late at night which would suggest limited audience viewing figures.
Note: We will post more details at the end of this month. We are waiting for the official release.

Is this a 'Wheel Of Fortune' clue :-) heheh "Beat The Wheel" or "Beat The House" ??? :-)
Audience (and even better, viewer) participation would be an ideal way to create interest IMO. (Who would rather play a hand of Blackjack than watching somebody else play) ?.
I have a meeting with a company in the UK later this month to try and provide more viewer participation for their TV shows. I'm sure that there is a lot of mileage in TV gaming with the introduction of interactive TV. Stay tuned :-)

I sat through that truly wretched King of Vegas series, so I suppose I'd watch anything.
Hope you haven't based your target audience on folks like me.
I don' t know how you could make casino games that exciting. I tried 'World Series of Blackjack' and lasted about 30 seconds before I had to turn it off. 'Catch 21' doesn't really work for me either, but that's probably due to the host and low production value.
I was a big fan of the concept behind 'Duel' on ABC a couple years ago. But it didn't play well in prime time as people apparently like to see the drawn out drama of people making bad decisions a la 'Money Drop' or 'Deal/No Deal' (I could get behind both of those shows if they were paced quicker)
Quote: SwitchThere was a show in the UK (can't remember the name) which featured 3 players and a series of gambling rounds - the games used were Blackjack and roulette. The contestant with the most chips at the end was then allowed to gamble all, or part, of their remaining chips on a 50/50 proposition made by the host.
It was screened late at night which would suggest limited audience viewing figures.
It was shown on Challenge TV in the UK and was called Casino Casino and hosted by Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet fame and featured Evelyn Ng (known in poker circles) as their poker dealer.
There has also been a show called Vegas Virgins, which was based around poker, and flew a group of poker amateurs out to Vegas to complete varying poker related challeges and partake in things such as acting lessons, and then playing poker against each other, loser being eliminated.
winner (wynner ?) can punch a hole in a priceless painting.
Mean-spirited ? Maybe.
Actually, one of the highlights of my trips to Vegas was seeing
Steve's painting collection when it was on display at what was
left of the Desert Inn. This was a bunch of years ago, maybe
10 years ?
Actually, had a question on this front: I think about 8-10 years back, there was a competition show (sort of like a game show, but with questions) on the Travel Channel where four people were picked to play Blackjack, Craps, Three Card Poker, and another game (I think it was Roulette). They'd play for a certain amount of time, and then switch to another game for the same amoutn of time. Anyone remember what this show was called?
