Thanks to the Wizard for the site and setting everything up that he took years of devotion and his time. As well I wish to thank the mods and administrators for their superb job, their tenacity and consistency and keeping everything in order.
Although I had my fair share of suspensions, I understand why they happened and I will try to curtail anything in the future from causing suspensions again. I do wholeheartedly thank those that made the site possible, as it really gave way to a new gig and a sideline for me that I truly appreciate and value beyond most members comprehension.
Once again, total thumbs up to the Wizard and his Crew!
Sincerely,
Marcus Clark

Perhaps they always have been but today is the day to recognize it.
Thank you. But when we do, it will rightly go un-noticed.Quote: MDawgThe Mods, and Wizard, are doing an awesome job lately!

Thank you, but what is special about today? I looked it up and Sept 30 is International Translation Day -so that's probably not what you are referring to.

It is 11 days after ITLAPD, perhaps that's of significance?
Gracious thanks for the recognition.
75th aniversary of the verdicts from the Nuremburg Trials, where several 'members' of the German military sentenced to be 'suspended'?Quote: gordonm888Quote: MDawgThe Mods, and Wizard, are doing an awesome job lately!

Quote: AxelWolfProbably National suck-up day somewhere. If I were a mod I'd be suspicious enough to go look to see if I missed any recent suspension-worthy posts from anyone overly complimentary.

I love the idea of National Suck-up Day. We certainly have days for far less essential things than that. And I think the public would love it!!
Of course, starting with Axel himself, I think this WOV forum has many many members who would never be caught sucking-up to anyone, not even on a specially-designated day of the year. Just too many proud, cussedly-independent smartasses in here. (and if that's judged to be a personal insult, I'll accept the suspension from one of my fellow administrators.)

OMG!!! Such complete and utter nonsense! Plus negativity.
Please, I kinda wish you would refrain from posting here because in my opinion, you bring down the 100 percent real honest to goodness intentions I started this thread with.
Respectfully,
Marcus Clark

I have proclaimed today as National Recognition of Forum Moderators & Administrators day.
Thanks,

Hmm. Who needs to be bribed to get it on
the list alongside the other prestigious observances?
(It really can't be Buttering-Up Day; the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Day people would have a fit, if they weren't busy helping the Chewing Gum Day celebrants with their hair.)
And based on some of the reactions and gratitude for the amount of work that they’ve been doing, I guess I’m glad that I am a former moderator. 🤪

So, to attack the writing and not the writer, I should do something like this? Since it was deemed OK? Or is this wrong too?
The scope of what is right in wrong is beyond my understanding. I'm sorry, it has to be me, I obviously just don't get it.

No, this is not strong take out "I'm sorry & it has to be me"
Quote: mwalz9Thanks. I'll correct mine in the future. I was actually inquiring about the way MarcusClark attacked AxelWolf's post. I have a hard time understanding. To me it appeared he attacked AxelWolf, but obviously it was OK, so I guess he attacked the writing? I dunno. I'll work on it.

An interesting point, surely he was saying the post was nonsense, not AW himself. He wished that AW would not post. That's akin to saying he doesn't like AW's posts.
But I see and value your point.
Guys, we are all grown ups here. Do we need to debate kindergarten level rules of behaviour?

Sorry. I've read so many fairy-tales lately, it brought me back to my childhood.
I'll get back into adult mode now.
It may have been suspension worthy had I gathered up all my cronies and fake accounts and then proceeded to spam The Wizard with multiple requests and arguments for a suspension.Quote: mwalz9Thanks. I do not think there is a special subsection for beginners.
Find a topic of interest among the 36000+ threads, read up as much as you can, ask a sincere question, and think.
Welcome.
