I saw Redd Foxx playing blackjack at The Silver Bird. This was when he had an engagement in their showroom and I was staying at the hotel.

Saw T.J Cloutier playing craps at Four Queens around 2002. About this time I saw Chris Ferguson and Eric Seidel playing poker on the second floor of Binionís Horseshoe.

In the mid to late 1990's Redd Fox would be playing $5 slots almost everyday at Sam's Town. It would also not be uncommon for him to be smelling some white powder while at the machine.

I was walking around the Shops at Ceasar's once after buying my girlfriend a Burberry purse and we were in of the shops when they told us they were closing to the public for a few minutes. I stuck around to see why and it was so Jay-Z and Beyonce could shop alone in private. We stood outside and watched them for a few minutes.

I was also walking thru the shops one day looking at my phone and when I looked up, I bumped into Jerry Rice. He was headed to an autograph session.

I've actually played with Michael Jordan at the same table years ago, before he stopped gambling. This was around the time that he and Charles Barclay would hit casinos together (celebrity golf tournaments). Jordan quit gambling; Barclay continues to play. I understand that Barclay got into trouble over gambling debts for a while there during that period.

Back when the Hard Rock Vegas was still hot, I'd see Dennis Rodham, Carmen Electra, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Pink, many other celebrities there all the time. I witnessed a drunken Matt Damon carried up to his room. Used to play Baccarat with Joe Viterelli.

Played Baccarat with one of the Maloof brothers at the London Club (Aladdin) more than once.

I've seen Bill Gates playing Blackjack years ago - red ($5) chips only. Howie Mandell - max bet, $25. that I ever saw.

I played BlackJack at same table with the great Wayne Gretzky once at Mandalay Bay. Gretzky high fived everyone at the table whenever the dealer busted.
That was a few years before this:
VEGAS IS WAYNEíS ROLLER RINK Ė BLEW THROUGH $2M AT CASINOS: REPORT

Another Baccarat celebrity I witnessed was Kerry Packer - he and I were in Vegas around the same time, and played Baccarat in the same (at that time, all public) salon at the Bellagio, right after 9/11. He lost. I won.

I know some of the Vegas locals who were in the CASINO (1995) movie, including DeNiro's right hand man (no talking lines) in the casino, and also the guy from whom Ginger steals chips. "I've been watching you all night...Your bag is full of ____ chips." He used to be the manager of Bernini at Caesar's and now lives in Australia. Whenever I would see him he was wearing those exact glasses and dressing just like that in real life. I talk to him sometimes via the internet.

Yes, you are allowed to post in new threads mdawg may create. However, such posts must be on topic. You are charged with rehashing old stuff and not on topic at all to celebrity sightings in casinos.

For another truce violation and personal insults -- another month.

Obviously, unless weekends now include Thursdays, the Canadiens were not gambling in a private room in Las Vegas last weekend. I'm hoping getting the days of the week straight is not a "personal insult," but one never knows at the WoV.

My girlfriend's friend actually opened the movie Casino. They recruited him from the sports book. The producers did quite a lot of that actually. They hired local "consultants" and then decided the consultants could do the job more convincingly than actors, so they plugged them in.

1. He plays with a line of around $2M minimum, and up to $13M at a time.
6. After a while, as he observed that my stack of chips was rising monstrously, he told the pit boss at my table, "Only he can open,"
...
8. At my table, while I was there, and after he started following my bet choices, he WON, but everywhere else, I noticed (and later was told) that the plastic lammers indicating losing call bets were stacking up against him.
...

An interesting slant on the meaning of a 'celebrity sightings'
Did he ask for your autograph?

That's a shame. Old stuff is not old to everyone and I'm sure kewlj has more to offer the forum then mdawg.

What is a no call bet?
Before trying to raise hell with the casino staff, you first need to check and see if the crap table you played on states ďNO CALL BETSĒ on the layout. What that sign means is that a player is not allowed to call out a bet without having at least enough chips on the table to cover their wager.- Mar 6, 2008

Call Bets are routine at Baccarat, but typically only one is allowed at a time. Win it, and you get the winning chip, and the plastic lammer that marked off the call bet disappears. Lose it, and you must either pay it off with cash (which would generally be unheard of, since only a player with a line would be allowed a call bet in the first place, and line players don't play with cash) or draw a marker against it against your line.

The equivalent in Blackjack is where, say, you end up with a double down that requires more chips than you have in front of you. You call out the words "MARK IT" and the casino drops the needed chips on your bet against your line, and then, just as above, either makes that "call bet" disappear if you win, or requires you to pay it off or print a new marker if you lose.

When I do something like this, if I lose the call bet I'll ask them to "print it to twenty" or some such, meaning that if I say, lose a thousand dollar call bet, I'll pay it off and get nineteen more with which to play.

Getting back to the casino celebrity aspect of this, I once saw a player lose so many call bets in a row that ended up with something like three million in plastic lammers in the tray - but again, it takes a special level player to even be allowed to make more than one call bet at a time. This player was betting against a long, long run. Pretty much any of these REALLY big players if you researched their names are celebrities of one kind or another - known if for nothing else, their wealth.
