Vegas pedestrian killed by RTC bus

The sister of a good friend of mine was killed at 11:28 am today by a Vegas RTC bus. She was in the crosswalk and was hit by the RTC bus and then the rear tires of the bus ran over her. Video confirms that she was fully in the crosswalk and had the right-of-way.
I was with my friend when he received a call and was notified of the accident and death of his sister. She was 55 years old.
How does this happen? It's a damn shame.

If the bus driver is at fault, I hope he/she faces the consequences for their carelessness.
Once again, my sincere condolences.
Vegas is a tough place for Drivers, imho. Many pedestrians ( and I have no idea about this poor woman, or whether she was even on the Strip ) completely ignore the cross-walk signals. I spend a lot of time figuring out how to get into a Strip Hotel parking lot "the back way" to avoid the pedestrians on the Strip.

My condolences.
I hated walking n Vegas. Too many accidents. I remember driving Axel home one night, we came across a pedestrian fatality that had literally just happened. I'd say I saw more pedestrian accidents in three years in Vegas than in twenty-five years in NYC.

So tragic. In my 50's too. In Switzerland, the cars slow down more for pedestrians. The pedestrians have right of way in more circumstances.
Born in Texas and lived in Texas my whole life.

Investigation still underway I assume, but initially it certainly sounds like the bus driver was at fault.
If you are in Vegas, please just be extra careful.
