With some studies showing that as many as one-third of patients with COVID-19 may experience lingering symptoms, the National Institutes of Health announced this week that it is launching an analysis to figure out what is causing the constellation of symptoms.
Long-term effects of COVID-19 given name
Glad to hear you will be resuming your pre-Covid activities! Hopefully, your symptoms will be negligible. Both my parents got their 2nd shots at the beginning of this month. Dad had no symptoms, but Mom had a sore shoulder/arm for a couple of days.Quote: SOOPOOIn an hour I go for second Moderna shot. Will update the forum on how shitty I feel over the next day or two. It’s bad enough that essential businesses were staggering the second shot injections so entire units did not call in sick on the same day. I think I will go to my local casino for the first time a week or so after. And start playing basketball again too! Will I be 100% safe...? Absolutely not! But the benefit of doing what I enjoy will outweigh that newly lowered risk.
I did have a question, though. You said you would be doing things in a week or so. I had heard that it takes 14 days after the second shot for full effectiveness (this came from a family member who is an RN). Do you think the 14 day guideline is an overabundance of caution, or perhaps the guidelines been changed? It seems that prevailing thought on all things Covid is constantly evolving.

A crazy, out of the blue question. Did you visit Bermuda in the summer of 1975?

Good luck to you SOOPOO. Hope any adverse reaction from the second vaccine is mild. One good thing is that reaction, soreness in the arm and muscle, headache, general feeling of not feeling well, is actually a positive thing in that it indicates the vaccine is working and your body responding just as it should.
