The vitamin industry is such a big scam.

It is if you have a well-balanced diet.

If you're forced to stay home for weeks or months at a time, like with what potentially could happen with coronavirus, and your diet starts turning to crap because you're running out of healthy food and/or the grocery stores start running short on healthy food, it probably wouldn't hurt to have some vitamins on hand just in case you have to live off of nothing but a bag of rice for a week or two.

We're all turning into Howard Hughes!

Here's my thoughts: I have been sticking to myself for the most part for a long time. On a daily basis, I had only my wife in close proximity for days, though I would go to the store once or twice a week. Frequently enough we attended a concert or whatever, and went out to eat once in a while, often with another couple. I went for long periods, years, without catching anything.

The last two things I caught were a cold and the flu. About two years ago I did a cruise, traveling on Amtrak to get there, and caught a nasty cold. This January I attended a meeting of a social club we belong to that gets people together to do this and that. It was right after all the grandkids came to visit all these people and I am quite convinced that is where I got the flu.

I have a theory that this C-19 is about as contagious as the cold. In my normal activities I haven't been catching the latter - going to the store [and taking no precautions about sanitizer on the cart till now] just doesnt seem to be how I get this stuff. I really think it's that extra exposure that does it - groups of people in an enclosed space. I'm not going to start sanitizing my shoes.

Why do you think vitamin supplements will help with Corona or whatever else? How do you know it actually won't do more harm than good?

Vitamins helping with colds and whatnot is total nonsense.

The vitamin industry is such a big scam.

Ha ha. I am more skeptical than you. But I am only worried about high dosages doing me harm, which I am not taking. I am not worried if it does nothing, and I'm seriously not worried about low dosages.

Actually my regular physician already prescribes me extra b12 before all this.

Staying home as directed. A few walks but I so few people out no big deal. Getting plenty of sleep to keep my strength up. I live alone so more danger of going stir crazy than catching it.

I think people need to do research themselves, but I do remember hypertension or high blood pressure to be bad, but the kind of medication you're on could be contributing to the disease being worse. Look it up if you're taking ACE inhibitors or blood pressure medicine, I don't feel like doing a google search for you right now.

The only thing you have to do is eat halfway normal, actually, you could probably just eat like crap and you'll get more than enough vitamins. Obviously, if your doctor tells you that you are deficient in a certain vitamin for whatever reason, that's a different situation.
