This has to be the dumbest blackjack play in a movie (although, James Caan hitting an 18 in The Gambler might be worse, but, for him it worked out)
What other bad gambling plays in movies have you seen?

How about Austin Powers standing pat on a 5? BTW very similar play to Ace's clip for Number Two.

I heard there were some terrible plays in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig, but I don't know enough about Texas Holdem to spot them.
There's usually a lot of crazy plays in those Hong Kong gambling films, too.

I didn't really notice it at the time the movie first came out, but wow, Malkovich does a terrible Russian accent.

I think there was a hand where the four hands shown down were nut flush, full house, quads and straight flush. That's asteroid hitting the earth at 4:32 pm EDT tomorrow kind of probability.

It doesn't come across well in the movie, but I believe that was done on purpose. Remember towards the end of that scene, when Clive Owen says the manager can't count? He purposely miscounted the chip stack to see if the manager was even paying attention, and he straight up called him out when he was counting cards wrong.
