So.. she hasn't "lost" it, but has red tape to go through to get her money... this should all be on the casino to fix, I don't see why she has to do it.
Meanwhile, gambling takes a hit as the woman says "she needs" that jackpot money.

Casino should very publicly hire someone to expedite whatever needs to be done, and send a limo to take her to get the check.

Yikes. What are the odds that the one digit that was messed up ended up this way. I bet they could have used 89 other digits and it wouldn't have been an issue. I am surprised that the state got it so quickly and it couldn't just be fixed.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

A lot less than the odds of hitting a jackpot.
When my Father died, his union paid survivor benefits until six months after my 23rd birthday if I was a full-time student. The clerk filling out the application put my birth year as 53 instead of 58 and I was ruled ineligible. It took almost a year to straighten it out and the first check was for 12 months back pay. Just identifying the right desk to fix the issue was a chore.
