Lots of police activity here in Vegas.

Coming from NYC,the lack of visable police presence in Vegas is a bit of a shock. NYPD typically has more officers on duty within three miles of Times Square than Nevada has sworn officers of all types.
So it was a surprise when I encountered a DWI checkpoint on Maryland Parkway both Friday and Saturday.
Sunday, I counted five motorcycle cops with cars pulled over on Paradise leaving the airport.
What was really bizarre was Sunday afternoon, the police closed all the entrances to Sunset Park, and were doing vehicle searches of cars leaving the park.
Today I was in the Westgate and there were a dozen motorcycle cops pulling over cars for no obvious reason. I sat and watched for about fifteen minutes.

If Vegas seems to have a LACK of police presence, NYC must be like some sci fi nightmare these days.

NYC needs a ton of cops. They have to deal with all them New Yorkers!

Probably some international terrorists in town.
When you say lack of police, I suppose, but I always add in all the casino security as well which isn't normal for non-casino cities.

Security is 1000000000% different than police. Security ain't gonna do sh** if there's an actual threat against you.
