I came across an article this morning and was going to add it to a thread about the potential Culinary Workers strike, but I didn't see one.

It sounds like CAESAR's has a tentative agreement as of Friday:

https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2018/06/01/With-no-new-labor-deal-Las-Vegas-casino-workers-ready-to-strike/4791527855144/

.....so I assume MGM will follow suit shortly if they haven't already.

I was curious about wages:

"The average hourly wage of Las Vegas Strip workers is $23, including benefits such as premium-free health care, a pension and a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and $20,000 down-payment assistance for first-time homebuyers."

.....according to this:

But they actually make about $13 an hour,
which ain't much in take home pay.

I was playing Pai Gow Poker at Mandalay Bay one night this week and had a really chatty Asian dealer. She said she only makes $8.75 an hour (plus tips, obviously).

I know dealers aren't involved in this strike, but I was still shocked that their base pay is that low at a major strip casino.
