All cops profile, according to my friend who retired as a police Lt after 38 years. None will admit it, but they all do it. If most cars in the area are stolen by Blacks in their late teens, they aren't going to look at little old White grannys. What do casinos look for in casino cheats? Whats their profile? If I had to guess, it would be White males between 30 and 50, or even 35 and 45. I doubt if their worried about the over 55 group. In fact, I'm over 55 and have noticed a big difference in how I'm treated in grocery and dept stores. They never question anything I tell them, and they are always questioning people in their 20's and younger. I would think its the same in a casino, younger people are more suspect.

I'm pretty sure the majority of cheaters do so out of desperation. According to you, white males are more affected by losing money than asians? Come on, do you really expect that to hold water? If you are talking about professional cheaters, that's a little different. However, like all avenues of gaming, the professionals are in the minority. Considering a cheater is operating by deception, wouldn't the best cheater be a 85 year old granny with a walker?

The cheaters you hear about are the ones that get caught.

In my local casinos, yes. There are no Asians to speak of, they are few and far between. But its an age thing I'm wondering about, not a racial issue.

Yes, the 'list.' Not what I had in mind. Old Mafia guys in their late 70's and early 80's is not what the casino is looking for these days.

Anything that is JDLR will be noted, irrespective of the age of the person involved.
Surveillance notes anyone who is rubbernecking, that is looking around as if to see who is watching him. Surveillance notes anyone sitting very close to someone else, no matter what the age or sex. Three men rubbing shoulders at a blackjack table can be passing cards no matter what their age.
An older person with shiny medical equipment is suspect.
JDLR: Just Doesn't Look Right. Often its a behavior pattern that is simply unusual.

Shiny medical equipment...Do they still frown upon magnets in wheelchairs at the craps tables?
In Atlantic City, back when coins dropped out of slot machines, I saw what could only be described as a skid row bum with a coat hanger. He was using it to fish for coins.
In no time, three goons in suits came charging towards him. To my surprise, they handled him with kid gloves and even knew his name.
Apparently the gentleman had mental health issues and the "goons", who turned out to be nice guys, called someone to pick him up.

I understand you can still find a pit boss who has a cheap compass that will react to any unusual magnetic force but they still look for shiny reflective surfaces near the blackjack tables to deter hole-carders.Quote: benbakdoffShiny medical equipment...Do they still frown upon magnets in wheelchairs at the craps tables?
