Based on the very early reporting of this incident, I would contest that the kids would've been ridiculed for their behavior by the media, commentators, and you, even if they didn't have MAGA hats on.

Really? The MAGA hat was prominently mentioned in most reports and comments.

I doubt that it would have gotten a quarter of the attention had the hat not been involved.

It was prominently mentioned because it was prominently on display. I still think it would've got the attention. An event on MLK weekend where these groups converged on one another? I think so.

I see conservatives imploding already
All over a high school kid EB and other conservatives label a Nazi
Just a kid
Going after children like this is imploding

I totally support Kyle Kushov, Parkland student, fighting for gun rights
I applaud ALL high school students getting involved in politics regardless if lib or con

Why so much hate on the right? Why implode over a high school student

Quote: terapined

Its really sick how conservatives go after high school kids
A kid in high school speaks out
Conservatives such as EB go absolutely nuts calling a high school kid a Nazi
You should be ashamed of yourself
I don't like Laura Ingraham but I would never stoop as low as EB calling somebody a nazi
sad and disgusting

But wait, there's more...

Quote: terapined

Kyle speaks about gun rights. I support kyle's free speech but no way will I listen to him.
Please
Listen to a high school kid
Why
They're kids, just ignore them
Fascinating how crazy and nuts conservatives become when a high school kid speaks out
Weird

I don't blame the kid. I blame the chaperones

The right went hard against David Hogg, lots of hate
The left gave a pass to Kyle Kushov, no hate

You never answered my question about the David Hogg mystery chaperone

See how easy that is? Nevermind....continue your rant please.

What was the drummers job?
I know what the chaperones job was. To take the kids to Washington and keep them out of trouble. The Black Israelites job seems to have been to stir stuff up. I'd say they succeeded. Nathans self proclaimed mission was to break up the tension between the kids and the Israelites. I'd say he succeeded. The kids job was to be kids, and they managed to do that just fine. The chaperones job was to watch over the kids and keep them safe and out of trouble. They failed. If you are a parent and watch the whole hour long video, are the chaperones anywhere in sight? I don't expect 15-16 old kids to display a lot of common sense. It's great when they do but there is a reason why we don't let them sign contracts, and a million other things.
Having taken more than a few travel teams on overnight trips, I would resign if any video like this ever came out of kids I was supposed to be watching.

So the ADULT lefties in that video didn't go hard at the MINORS?

In one case it's the audience's job (hence the steverino quote) to ignore the kid (your words) as long as that audience is conservative. In the next case it's the chaperone's job to protect the kid as long as that audience is Left. Don't know how to spell it out anymore simply.

You see any chaperones? Did you see a chaperone for Nick step in and escort him away from the group (by the way, he said today that he wish he would've just walked away, maybe one of the adults responsible for him could've provided some guidance)? Did you see a chaperone for the kids step in and escort them away from a couple of crazy dudes calling them school shooters and yelling homophobic slurs?

My point remains. The chaperones for this field trip FAILED MISERABLY and should be reprimanded if they are employees. They got a lot of nerve doing TV interviews.

He didn’t mention why he wished he would have just walked away though or did he say something nice for the camera about that? The reason is likely not because of anything he did, but because a bunch of supposedly grown adults are losing their crap for no reason like they haven’t even went through potty training yet. You know, basically just the media and Twitter trolls doing what they do

Trump is the one who's playing games with people's lives by playing the hostage card. The rest of us, liberal, moderate, many conservatives, are appalled.

That said, it can never be allowed to work (yes, I'm repeating myself from several weeks ago). If it works even once, it will keep happening.

And it's not working. Trump's approval rating is down to 34%. He's lost another 7 points in a week.

Women disapprove of him by 71% independent women by 71% college-age women by 76%. He's losing badly.

Wow
The high stakes showdown between Trump and Pelosi (interesting he has never tagged her with a derogatory name)
Trump blinked

Trump Just tweeted
"As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber. I look forward to giving a “great” State of the Union Address in the near future!"

I doubt Trump needs to worry about too many of his voters flipping to the Democrats.

He does, I suspect, need to worry about a Democrat that brings out voters to the polls.

Barack Obama in 2008 received the most votes of any presidential candidate ever. Voter turnout that year was 58.2%, the highest since 1968.

Probably not a coincidence.

Lol. You believe? You think the Executive can bully their way into the Legislature, take over the podium, and start spouting off?

I KNOW that is the chamber of a co-equal branch of government. He has no more right to speak at that podium than he has to preside over the SCOTUS. It is a courtesy extended for logistical and practical reasons.

Sharpie and paper would work just fine. It wasn't even a speech until 1913, when Woodrow Wilson delivered it orally.

Quote: wiki

During most of the country's first century, the President primarily only submitted a written report to Congress. After 1913, Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. President, began the regular practice of delivering the address to Congress in person as a way to rally support for the President's agenda.[1] With the advent of radio and television, the address is now broadcast live across the country on many networks.[4]

I'm of the opinion that Nancy should have let the state of the union address go on as originally scheduled. To me, the tradition, should have risen above all else. Not liking the headlines about this being a battle.

Absolutely not
For the good of the country, somebody has to school King Trump on the separation of powers
His absurd demands are shutting down the govt when he does not have the power to make absurd demands due to separation of powers
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

Normally I would agree with you, but Donny just asked twice for network time for " major announcements" that were nothing but airing of his grievances. I can only imagine where a thirty minute rant would end up?

We have reached the point where anyone and everyone who wants a job, has one. Anyone else is “unemployable “ or has decided not to work. By unemployable I mean they have drug issues, are unreliable and have a poor work history.

Thank You President Trump for starting to MAGA.

Guess “It’s the economy stupid”, doesnt matter to liberals anymore. Hatred of the Orange man makes it’s easy to root against the success of fellow Americans.

Hopefully history see these traitors for what they were.

They’re job is to not be a**holes.

There was only one group of people that had a job to do in this and it was the chaperones. They failed.

And I will. Turn out just fine. I have no doubt that Nick will too. I hope he learned something. I think we all did.

Traitors? You talking about the Trump administration and the Russian puppets? Or are you talking about your fellow Americans?

Exactly
At these protests I have personally observed since I lived near DC
Its a**hole city. These protests attract every a**hole in the country
They get magaphones and scream and scream and scream. A lot of angry a**holes at just about every DC protest
a chaperone needs to be aware of this and keep the kids away from the nut jobs.
The DC protest mall area is massive,You can be near the a**holes or you can keep the kids safe and away from the a**holes
