OK, lots of you will know who these guys are / were and what they contributed to the development of Sin City, but many will not; google them if you draw a blank, as they all played a key role in the shaping of Las Vegas.

Those sound like article requests to me!
Okay, they're not.
But, I'll pretend they are. Besides, ideas for my, "People in Gaming," articles are always appreciated.

I don’t have any real answers, but this made me think about how the Flamingo has a memorial and venues named after a self proclaimed serial killer.

Senator Nye? Lived in Santa Monica, California but anyone in Nevada could call him for a dime. Pushed for Santa Monica to become industrial but the Army wanted it to be Long Beach so there would be two railroads. Also of course pushed any legislation the mob wanted. Threatened to hold hearings on the Warner Brothers trying to drum up war fervor to get America in the war so Jews could be saved. The only Senator known to not live in the state he represented and supposedly to have had a direct line to gangsters in Los Angeles.

I associate Del Webb more with Tahoe than Vegas - mainly because of the "Del Webb's High Sierra" TV ad (with somebody wearing a "marshal" badge saying "Howdy" to customers).

You left out Moe Greene :-)
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I'm re-reading a Las Vegas favorite of mine, "Super Casino: Inside the 'New' Las Vegas" by Pete Farley.
Very informative and interesting read for those interested in the development and evolution of Sin City.

Super Casino is a great book. He also wrote The Hot House. Another good read. The book, The Enforcer by William Roemer is a great book. It's about Tony Spilotro.
