I think it makes a lot of sense. Note, these are the REIT land owners not the operating companies. All this means is both are now paying rent to the same landlord.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Their stock closed at 19.99; the news that there's a buyout in the works at 19.50 caused it to surge upwards to 22.98 before dropping back down to ~21.50. People are really optimistic about the aftermath of this...
