Quote: BobDancerI would not have let that drop with just one guy saying 'nah.'
Assuming we're talking about a phone app that I had with me, I would have asked to see a supervisor and shown him/her the message that says I get the 'whatever it was'. Without being loud or angry about it, I would have explained that i made a special trip just because the app said I was going to get it. If we're talking about something 'valuable' like a TV, I'd me more forceful. If we're talking about a $5 'casino crap' logo cup that matches nothing, I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it.
Supervisors have authority to "make things right." I would have given this one a chance to do that!
Now, if the the supervisor told me there was nothing that could be done, I would have made a judgment call concerning the value of the gift and the likelihood I'd be kicked out if I made a big stink.
Remember, showing anger is an option to be used in special cases when it can be useful. For me anyway, it is not the default.
I didnt up too much of a fuss because I just happened to be there when they were doing the giveaway, and I was not really all that torn up to not be getting a CET windbreaker.
But it was certainly insulting.
I also got a mailer from a casino where I am the highest tier offering me "3% off the buffet" but you could not use it with food comp dollars.
....Rate when booking directly on the Wynn website without the offer, $219.
Thanks Wynn!
Quote: aceofspades$5 free play from Revel after playing there almost every weekend for 2 years
They blamed going out of business on that specific giveaway
Quote: bigfoot66I got a postcard from the now defunct San Ysabel casino that had a couple of paper "chips" that you punched out of the card and played as match play. They said "$0" on them. Beat that!
That was Santa Ysabel? I remember that 0$MP when it was posted years ago...
Kind of a pity that place closed; I rather liked it. They were also home to the only place I've ever seen PGP, and their free steak and shrimp combo for new members was pretty good.
Quote: BobDancerYou're probably being insulting to Dotty's. Whenever I get such mailers, they always double the last week's offer to $2 to make it really worthwhile!
Hey, whaddaya know! It's 2/2/2/3/3 this month! Put it all together, and I can get a lunch! Maybe I'll even splurge and get *bottled* water.
But in response to the comments about the very slow reaction time by the casinos
I stayed in Laughlin for the first and only time, this past November, at Harrahs, for two nights. I played atmost of the casinos in town, and joined all the players clubs. I was at Avi for about three hours, and they started sending me emails and offers about a month or two later. But recently, after getting nothing for months, Ive been bombarded by stuff for Harrahs Laughlin.
Anyway, your mileage may vary
If $5 a week keeps you coming back, why offer more?
A locals casino by me offers $15 a week, but if you cash in the first two weeks, rewards double the second two weeks. Another offers me $15 a week. The first one is more of a priority than the second. I get there when I can.
Quote: RogerKintSo you got about $3.50 back? I'm no math genius but that's at least 350 spins.
But I am not playing one cent a spin. I play .20-$1 a spin.
I think he meant average, based upon 1% house edge.Quote: NathanBut I am not playing one cent a spin. I play .20-$1 a spin.
Quote: billryanMost clubs reward coin in, not wins or losses.
I'm looking at you, Palace Station. *still grouchy*
Quote: billryanMost clubs reward coin in, not wins or losses.
That makes sense although this particular local casino rewards losses. ;)
Quote: billryanMost clubs reward coin in, not wins or losses.
I don't think that's true.
Wins and losses are a part of the equation at a large number of casinos. Whether "most" do it that way, I'm not sure. But it's probably a growing number that are using this information and also "trips" and sometimes Average Daily Theoretical
Also to make it even more laughable they mailed this offer to me and I live in California.
Lucky Dragon deserved to go out of business.
I thought they were very generous with their offers and promos.Quote: klimate10The formerly Lucky Dragon casino sent me a mailer for a free rice cooker if I showed up.
Not only was the Lucky Dragon stingy with their food comps (I was there and experienced their stinginess), but their offers were just stupid.
Lucky Dragon deserved to go out of business.
They did get jumpy and change thing's but it was still ok.
