Introduce himself as "Sue", no doubt!
I assume there was something else going on that was better at the time?Quote: BTLWIWhy did "the AP" try so desperately to keep this promo under wraps?
Or someone was just making some sh*t up?
Why would he/she assume people would be swarming the place? Was there a shortage of candles in FL at the time?Quote: NathanThe AP strongly implied that the casino just may not like a whole bunch of people swarming their property to take advantage of the promotion. It would have helped a LOT if I had mentioned that that particular promotion had been over by the time I had started this thread, there was still another promotion called "The Sweetest Surprise, " that was still running at the time I started this thread, so I decidedto still keep mum.
I thought the reason the casinos ran promos was so people would swarm their casino?
You said this was a top AP or something like that(?) You might want to reassess what a good Advantage player is.
"strongly implied" I can only imagine the verbiage in that PM. Was he was using some AP code words or something? He must be really good since he only "strongly implied".
Quote: WatchMeWinDo they have bubble craps machines at Gulf Steam?
No but plenty of other fun games like an electronic big six wheel.

Quote: NathanThey strike again! Their newer promotion has a coookware promotion giveaway with the lowest "price" being 2000 points for a Rachel Ray skillet and the highest being 8000 points for a Rachel Ray 12 piece cookware set or something like that. The other two cookware items are like 4000 points and 6000 points. They add on,"You get to KEEP the points! " Keep in mind that each point is equal to $5 coin in. So the Rachael Ray cookware set is a shocking 10,000 coin in and the 12 piece cookware set is an even more shocking $40,000 coin in! The only good thing is tgat you keep the points.
So can you please explain why this is a bad promotion for the player when you get to KEEP the points?? Probably should just ignore you but do you even understand this is an ADDED value to the player and nothing more? The extra value is for the smart player to determine. Why not go read what others said to you about AP in another thread today and see if it sinks in. Can you tell me the value of the cookware retail and on the secondary market? If not that should your first step before saying it is a bad promotion. Open your eyes and see others have tried to help you here.
Quote: NathanI think it's a bad promotion because you have to put $10,000 coin in for cookware at best. At worst, $40,000 coin in for cookware!
Compared to WHAT do you normally get for $10K or $40K coin in?
However since you seem to be a good judge of casino marketing, I did some research and found a few open positions you may be interested in. Not sure of your current location, though it looks like some have relocation packages included and I assume you are good at negotiating terms when the time comes.

I guess it's all relative. I don't play $10,000 to $40,000 coin in, so I see that as a bad promotion, but the guy playing $20 a pull for a few hours might see that as a good promotion as he is playing $10,000 to $40,000 coin in anyways, promotion or no promotion.
In which case $10k coin in gets u a cheeseburger
Ridiculous that they charge so much knowing the burger place is half price to more than half price. They should only charge roughly $16 if there were no other burger places close by. For example, one of my other local casinos is not around any food places. The closest place to get food is the Chevron gas station about a 15 to 20 minute walk away. They would have the privilege to charge exorbitant prices due to the scarcity of food around that local casino. And even they are reasonable.
I got a steak sandwich and fries from their restaurant for roughly $10 and I got free soda from the bar and brought it in. If you got a soda from their restaurant they charge about $2 or $3. It is kind of weird that they charge $2 or $3 for a soda when there is a bar that gives a cup of soda for free just literally a few steps away. But even if you decide to (stupidly) pay $2 or $3 for a soda at the restaurant you are paying roughly $12 or $13 for a steak sandwich, fries, and soda. Better than paying roughly $16 for burger, fries, and soda. ;)
Hush.
You're babbling.
Just hush.
10k coin in does not = a 10k loss. In many cases putting in 10k coin in will be less than a $50 expected profit for the casino. Add in all the expenses it takes to run the casino and their profit on 10k coin in is not always that good.Quote: NathanI was disgusted when you told me that 10K in only gets you a cheeseburger. And not even a soda! At 10K in you would expect to be able to buy 625 people a burger, fries, and soda. My local casino charges roughly $16 for a burger meal with burger, fries, and soda. Which is ridiculous considering the burger place across the street of the casino charges roughly $8 for burger, fries, and soda including tax and tip. In the happy hour, they charge $6.04.

Now if you play slots on that same 10k coin in, you can easily give up about $1400 in -EV(you will probably get a comp). Now do you understand why YOU shouldn't always be playing -EV slots when you go to the casino?
Quote: AxelWolf10k coin in does not = a 10k loss.
I also have suspected that Nathan has not grasped this simple fact.
Nathan writes pretty well, I don't find myself wanting to correct spelling, grammar, or sentence structure. This suggests he wasn't a bad student, yet he has shown himself unable to educate himself here. Is it just an act?

I was referring to slots with my $10k coin in. Actual loss was $1600. Comped a cheeseburger
Just for the record my monthly (calender for those perverted imaginations on here) was pretty dismal off that. No food no hotel (no surprise there as they dont have one) $200 freeplay once a week and lots of earn points for big ticket giveaways only a few people were going to get

Someoe else pointed out that even with 10K coin in you probably only lost $50. I have to think of it being a 10K CYCLED through the slots, not WASTED.
It's hard to say, but something isn't right, that's for sure. It seems like an act, but why would anyone keep up this type of charade for so long?Quote: odiousgambitI also have suspected that Nathan has not grasped this simple fact.

How board and pathetic can someone be to keep something like that up? I'm not calling him pathetic, it was a general question.
Perhaps he has some kind of a condition?
Isn't WON meeting up with him or something like that?
Notice he just now started YET ANOTHER slot thread actually talking about a +EV situation. I'm wondering why it took him this long to bring it up?
I assume he thought you lost 10k.Quote: darkozAxel

What time did you say you wil be there today? I cannot be there until about 2-3
Quote: WizardofnothingWhat time did you say you wil be there today? I cannot be there until about 2-3
He said 1pm in the upper "high limit room".
Casinos in Seattle don't give away umbrellas, casinos in Phoenix do. Some premium company gets paid to put a casino logo on a cocktail set and the casino makes a big deal of giving them away. A set of coasters? A cigarette lighter? A keychain? Whoop dee do. Its like those bags of peanuts they used to give away on airliners, you wouldn't bend down to pick one up off the sidewalk but when other passengers are getting them, you want one also, even if you have a severe peanut allergy.
Most casino 'specials' are great if they already fit your schedule and your taste buds, otherwise hanging around for a 6:00am free bagel won't really be free for you.
Knick knacks are fine, most of us have several drawers full of them. Occasionally when we need one of them we might even be able to find it.
I find the "free" coffee at my local supermarket is becoming way too expensive for me. I'm particularly reminded of this when I visit a different supermarket that has a public scale. I think many of these casino "specials" are pretty much the same way. The casino wants to get you into the casino early and keep you there late. So they offer you some 'bargains'... pretty much the same as the free coffee at my supermarket: those bargains are expensive.
One husband and wife couple would use their mailer coupons jointly, perhaps at roulette perhaps at craps. If they won, they stayed a bit longer. They would feed ONE twenty dollar bill into a slot machine too see how long it lasted. They would do the two drink minimum and catch a jazz band or whatever was there that night. It was a night out, the wife didn't have to cook or do the dishes, it could turn out to be profitable for them but more often than not it was just entertainment. They didn't expect to get rich on the mailer coupon and they didn't spend the whole night losing money. It was basically a discounted 'cover charge' at a local restaurant.
Can't post tilt ime limit on Imgur but will
