I have no idea how old it is, or what it's purpose was, but it looked cool. I'm gonna hang it on the wall.

That the original owner doesn't know what it is is probably a good sign. If it were in my hands, I'd research the hell out of it and not just chuck it ebay as an unknown relic.
.
When I went to Germany 17 years ago I played it with my relatives there using a nice wooden board, as opposed to the plastic ones we use here. They called it po, or poh. I have no idea how to spell it.
I think it's worth at least what I paid if it is actually old. I was scouring ebay for old dice wheels, of which everyone wants $800+++ for, and this guy popped up.
Quote: gamerfreakWOW, thanks. My cursory research didn't turn up anything close to that. What you linked looks to be pretty spot on.

Well, someone thinks it might be worth more...

mmmmm that one is nicer but maybe I shouldn't have posted this until I have it in my greasy little palms
You put chips or fresh vegetables in the outer compartements.
You put dip in the center.
I'll wager it is VERY old, but that some muppet has varnished it.Quote: gamerfreakOK....got my dip tray and unfortunately I don't think it's very old. The wood has a modern-ish looking varnish, and feels manufactured.
It was also used for chips and dip.
That's a bummer. Can you see nails, staples or glue, or are the joints dovetailed? What color is the wood on the back?Quote: gamerfreakOK....got my dip tray and unfortunately I don't think it's very old. The wood has a modern-ish looking varnish, and feels manufactured.
....... I can go up to $5.
Quote: RSJust wait till someone comes over to your place and, "Why do you have a chip/snack tray hanging on your wall?"
hahah :) Well, but maybe "Why do you have a 5000 years old priceless chip/snack tray hanging on your wall?"
