The local has a promotional drawing where 20 people will "evenly split" the prize pool. If winners do not claim, an alternate winner will be drawn, and if an alternate does not claim, says "the prize will be forfeited from the prize pool". I'm certain most will claim, at least at halftime, but more likely some may have left the minute the game is over, and not claim. A blowout might cause more to leave way before the ending of the game. That might give me a better chance.

My question regards the rules for your interpretation. Obviously there is a little more free play for each winner to evenly split if there are less than 20 to evenly split. Makes no difference if there are less winners if the casino insists winners must split with empty chairs. It seems the casino intended to have no show winners save them money, but evenly split isn't defined and could have so simply just said 1/20 th of the prize pool.

Read the rules, let me know how you think the promotion will executed. I think it'll be 1/20th. It's a new thing changed recently where prizes are forfeited, sometimes drawings have no redraws. If they have a budget, I don't see a need to complicate the good will with ill will, but that's their choice.

I'm going with "winners split with empty chairs" - it says the prize is forfeited from the pool, and not the drawn players.

I think so too. The rules should be clearer. Too vague for my tastes. Was just hoping to find a good gotcha argument in case it's worth an extra $100 free play. They rarely give in to good arguments, and gaming never trumps them. The casinos claim they need gaming approval, but gaming gives a blank check, rubber stamp, however you put it.
