FindFace is a very powerful personal software for searching facebook for facial recognition matches; just download the app to your smartphone (free so far).
Originally limited to VK (Russian FB), I am certain that if it is not yet in the West, it soon will be.
It is used to try to find a "match" to any photo of somebody's face that the app user asks FindFace to search for, comparing the downloaded pic to all the FB pics on the 'net.
I can see the casinos using it as yet another tool to thwart AP and cheating.
So AP's, it's a changing world: if your pic is anywhere on FB, the casinos can find it and identify you from a pic they take of you in the casino.

This is why I use a photo of Kentry as my Facebook default.
I have heard (not sure if it is this app or some other) that it will look at all FB pictures, not just your profile pic. So, if your Aunt Esther tags you in her Thanksgiving photo that she posted, your name and face are in the database. You don't even need to be on Facebook at all.Quote: Zcore13All you have to do is set your profile to private and then only the people you'very "friended" can see your picture or info.

If you have mostly no beard in your facebook pics you could also fool it by growing a beard I'm sure...
And lastly, even IF they downloaded every single image from facebook to scan and check the localized check and analysis of every single image seems hideously improbable due to the not only the MASS amount of data that would need to be searched but then how many people in America do you think look like you? It would return unreliable results (in my opinion) due to the fact that I could see it returning dozens of other people that look like you too. This is again looking past the fact that they'd have to download every single image from facebook, and update daily, to avoid crashing the shit out of the servers the images are hosted on (and I could see just one or two users using this crashing the servers, let along "every" casino)...

I'm pretty sure the NSA has already been doing this for many years now. It would take a large investment in infrastructure, but I could see privately run "regional" databases doing very well. The meta data attached to the photos may be more valuable than the actual images.
