Odds of identical twins = 4/1000 = .4% or .004
Odds of giving birth at the "same time" as someone else? Eh, not bad? This is where you won't find a correct number. Sisters, especially identical twins, often try to get pregnant at the same time so they can go through it together. If they got knocked up at a similar time, they're massively increasing these odds. Let alone you can get induced in to labor, and perhaps they wanted to have their babies on the same day. At that rate the odds of giving birth at the same time are 100%.

Almost always more to these "crazy stories" than meet the eye.

I tend to summarize stuff like this by this simple phrase:

Shit happens.


Put another way: Romes says twins tend to do stuff together. Makes sense. Therefore, the news reported in the OP should come as no surprise. It had to happen, sooner or later...

I didn't want to be negative about this story and point out there might have been some shenanigans. I just figured there was no reason not let people believe in whatever happy bliss and fairy tails they want to.

I suspected there was a bunch of fluff and fact fudging going on as soon as I started reading this. IE. "I just knew she was pregnant when I seen her on thanksgiving"*rolls eyes (of course you did, you been talking to one another on the phone every dam day.)

You cant tell me they never once talked about how cool it would be to have their babies at the same exact time.
I'm sure they also knew it would make a great story and possible cash cow.

My sister was born on Halloween by about 4 hours. My mom made the doctor change the day for superstitious reasons. I dont know how that would help, either you are born on Halloween or not..... but whatever.

I'm skeptical of the exact same time and I believe there was some shenanigans going on because it's in everyone's best interest for this story.

My sister's birth certificate says she was born at 12:01am because the doctor forgot to check the time. She most likely was born the day before.
The babies were born 1 hour apart do to time zones.

The babies both have the same hat.
