Additionally, most people disagree on who is bright or entertaining, so as the "bad" posters are weeded out, forums die.
Never mind when great contributors are pushed out by people who have almost nothing to do with the forum.
But yes, I suppose you're right about needing the homers, Wiggums, etc. We need more riginduxs around here!

I'm assuming I'm the only one here that knows this is a neopet. Now you are all going to ask wtf is a neopet lol.
Quote: Sabretom2wtf is a nepet?
Neopets (originally NeoPets) is a virtual pet website. Visitors can create accounts, own virtual pets ("Neopets"), and buy virtual items for them using one of two virtual currencies, one of which can be earned within the site and the other of which can purchased with real-world money.
Neopets is consistently one of the "stickiest" sites for children's entertainment. Stickiness is a measure of the average amount of time spent on a website. A press release from Neopets in 2001 stated that Neopets.com led in site "stickiness" in May and June, with the average user spending 117 minutes a week.[

It was really big when I was about 10 years old.
I have no idea what is really 'big' today, pretty sure I missed it. Doesn't bother me too much 'cause it will be some other 'big thing' I miss tomorrow. I still have a feeble grasp on the the things that don't change daily/monthly/yearly but my vision gets foggier every day/week/year that goes by ;-)Quote: PokerGrinderQuote: RonCNeopets (originally NeoPets) is a virtual pet website. Persecuted Celery.
Quote: DrawingDeadA virtual online pet for children? I had no idea. So in spite of my intention, apparently I accidentally stumbled into being on-topic for the thread.
Persecuted Celery.
Hilarious. This is a perfect example of how this and most forums work... started with one question about a missing member, with attacks and now online vegetable pets. In 2 days no less.
And I'm the confused unfocused one. lol.
Sure isn't boring, I can say that.
Have a celery stick, and a nice day.
Quote: DrawingDeadActually, yes it is. It was already tedious quite a while ago when several people worked themselves into a frothy hysteria with this endless crap weeks ago, including pages upon pages upon pages of fevered attacks on those they wish to blame, and it does not improve with age. And it will continue for a while, being intentionally spread about outside of the designated containment thread and stirred and stoked here and there as they don't get their way, until eventually it doesn't. And that's just the way it inevitably is.
Have a celery stick, and a nice day.
One way to avoid "it" is to avoid a thread with a name like this one...there is a strong chance it might get discussed here for a second. Why should people complaining about not getting their way be the province of only those who eventually do get there way? I don't expect to get my way but I do have an opinion and will express it every once in a while until I am either kicked to the curb or I don't feel like it any more. By the way, I think that it isn't really all that bad...mostly a mention or two here and there except in the containment thread. If you stay away from that one and ones like this, you miss most of it...

Why was this your response? It seems like a completely legitimate question to me and I don't think it warrants this odd semi-threat. In fact, I have the exact same question, or at least I did until Rigondeaux answered it earlier in the thread.

On any board on the internet
There is a huge controversy
after some time it dies down
Then somebody pops onto the board reopening the can of worms
"I'll be watching you" is just that
We want to see if this was a valid question or is the person trying reopen a can of worms trolling the forum
These types of situations come up on all boards.
honest question or troll, only by watching will we have the answer

I don't know who owns the site but if you want the domain name try and go register it. The domain registration expired a month ago.

I am famous! :)
But seriously I read a couple pages of that thread and wow they are quite rude over there. I happen to agree with some of the things that are mentioned but every point that they make comes with an insult. I find it interesting that they took so much offence of my opinion of EB here but they voice their opinions on anything and everything like it is gold. Apparently I have to have a claim to fame to post my opinion? The only thing they know about me is I did the nugget challenge so they attack that? Really lol? Am I supposed to feel bad? Maybe my skin is too thick.
I was happy to read KJ's post over there, I did not agree with his nuking and stated such months ago. I think that this forum lost one of it's best members, if not the best period. We have lost a lot of good members lately and the forum has suffered from it. I didn't and don't want EB to leave, it is just my opinion that he would be better off posting quality to the forum rather than constantly posting about it's shortcomings. Just my opinion, I am not saying that it is right or that anyone has to agree with me.
First off it's not a they, it's probably one person with multiple accounts(sock puppets) at least 3 of the agitators. There's a few signs this is the case. Can someone confirm this was infact KJ?Quote: PokerGrinderQuote: RSLast I saw the "wizard of Vegas forum dying" (or something like that) thread had 860 posts. I can't confirm it, but it looked legit to me (as forums go). I'm not going to try and confirm it because it really doesn't change my opinion one whit; nothing over there does. This board lost a solid contributor in favor of a non-contributor. We hear about what an authority one is, and he may well be, but he contributes zero to this forum as of this point. I'm not saying that KJ isn't responsible, but I am not sure there was a way out except to ignore things that he felt were not true. QFIT doesn't give a crap about this board from what I have seen...
I have no clue if it's legit or not, but some of the things said were kinda odd. And since they have a history of this type of thing I think it's best to confirm it is legitimate. I think KJ should know if its infact not him saying them things. Even if it's actually how he feels, it's his reputation.Quote: RonCQuote: AxelWolfFirst off it's not a they, it's probably one person with multiple accounts(sock puppets) at least 3 of the agitators. Since others did not make any agreement, if they wanted to show support to KJ they could help spread his views about that site.
After rereading it I would actually be shocked if that was KJ. If it is him, I would assume he has multiple personalities and different writing styles. Then again he did fake his own death or something strange like that, so who knows.Quote: AxelWolfI have no clue if it's legit or not, but some of the things said were kinda odd. Just a guess...

I see, I didn't read much of the stuff other than the last few pages so I didn't realize that is what "they" was. Maybe I am nuts (spoiler I am) but I thought that KewlJ's supposed post there read like KewlJ's last post here when he made a new account called KewlJ2 or something like that. The post I am referring to is when he posted to argue back against QFIT after he was nuked.
It sounded very scripted and made sure to include much of the same BS them "guys" are trying to spew. Seriously KJ made sure to mention Mr. so an so?Quote: TwoFeathersATLClose call, but I thought I noticed a couple of subtle things wrong with the post(s).
Made sure to point out the same type of derogatory things they keep saying about Mike? The sentence structure and sime of the words used seem very non KJ.
I don't really know, but whatever the case it was definitely influenced by Larry and his merry men.
Since when was KJ a non supporter to information sharing on the forum? I would have to look at some his old posts regarding this but I swear he was in defense of people who gave TMI.
