I belong to the PPA (poker players alliance) that is trying to make it legal for states to offer online poker playing. Ironically, one of the biggest opponents, and one who is alleged to be spending a ton of money trying to make it illegal, is Sheldon Adelson. Why settle for a few 100 mil when you can try and control the whole thing...
Anyway, the PPA had recently reported it was rumored that Adelson had secretly purchased the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Here's an interesting article on what he is up to right off the bat.......

Always borrow money from a pessimist; They don't expect to get paid back !
Be yourself and speak your thoughts. Those who matter won't mind, and those that mind, don't matter!

Well, this is interesting.

Who is Edward Clarkin?
That question has gained national and international media attention in the five days since the Las Vegas Review-Journal first introduced the mystery author of a long article blasting Clark County District Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez's business court rulings.
After weeks of speculation on social media and more than one fake Twitter account created in Clarkin's name, public records point to one man behind the mystery: Michael Schroeder, manager of News + Media Capital Group LLC, which bought the Review-Journal early this month.

Rupert Murdoch buys 127 year old non profit National Geographic and fires 27 award winning writers. http://boingboing.net/2015/11/05/shortly-after-rupert-murdoch-b.html
I have heard he is turning it into a global warming magazine.
The media is not fair and balanced. We get the news, that we are supposed to get.

Here's a firsthand account of someone who ran afoul of some of Schroeder's tacticsQuote: RigondeauxAfter weeks of speculation on social media and more than one fake Twitter account created in Clarkin's name, public records point to one man behind the mystery: Michael Schroeder, manager of News + Media Capital Group LLC, which bought the Review-Journal early this month.

I don't see that as running afoul of the owner. He didn't like his boss so he quit. Happens a lot.

When you're a journalist by profession.
And you have 2 kids in college with your wife not bringing in a salary.
And there are a lot of reasons to stay in your job of 20+ years.
But your boss is willing to edit for advertisers' benefit, suppressing and censoring news.
And publishing plagiarism to please the new owners.
And you have ethics and can prove malfeasance.
That's a lot more than "running afoul" and "not liking his boss". That's integrity. Not to be lightly dismissed.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Okay, though I didn't dismiss it as 'running afoul', someone else did. It seems pretty clear he didn't like his boss, that's why he quit, right? Are some reasons better than others?
Lots of people have integrity. It's a peculiarity of our times that so many feel the urge to trumpet it on their Facebook page.
