You know, with the turkey deep fry thingy..
Hope you all have a nice holiday! 2F
Happy thanksgiving to you guys.
I'd also like to say that if you're thankful for the good things you have in life, then please don't call it "turkey day." Instead, show your thanks by at least calling Thanksgiving by its proper name.

Haven't had turkey in years, haven't even
done anything to celebrate the holiday
in three years. We're going to the casino
next Thursday, and nothing else. This has
always been an over rated holiday, just
an excuse to eat. And way too much work
for those that do all the cooking and for
years that was me. Never again..

Thanksgiving Day it is indeed. At least for me and mine, hopefully for each of you and your's.
I am waiting for other parties to arrive, then I will really leave for a while. Week or ten days.
I heard a noise..........gotta go....
Of course the downside starts the next day with Black Friday and the whole drawn out, heavily commercialized, high pressure, expensive Christmas season.

My mom and aunt hated Tgiving. They
had to get up early and slave in a hot
kitchen for hours while all the men sat
on their fat asses in front of the TV.
They never lifted a finger to help with
anything, not even the clean up. I'm
sure it was that way it was in most families.
Lots of people go out to eat these days,
that's the only way I would do it. I never
cooking another Tgiving dinner for
a bunch of ungrateful schlubs again.
The youngest did it once 4 years ago
and she says never again too. Now she
goes to a holiday buffet with her husband,
loves it.

I have much to be thankful for. Life is good.
Mom and I are doing the traditional dinner, scaled down, but definitely including turkey, which we both love. Her pecan pie is the finest known. Sweet potatoes and green bean casserole.
I wish you all the best of the holidays, starting here.
However, there will be a TR Thanksgiving Day/Weekend — think of it as a warmup to my upcoming LV Trip Report coming soon (including a BJ tournament)
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
I'll be at work for Thanksgiving having also come off of back-to-back double shifts, so I'll need to get some sleep that morning and early afternoon before work.
Fortunately, I've had a tremendous relationship with my Mother, my Step-Dad, my sister and, of course, my kids for several years. My girlfriend too, since July of last year, who also gets along tremendously with the aforementioned individuals. As a result, what many families only have the opportunity, inclination or both to do a few times a year is something that we do regularly. Perhaps half of the Sundays of the year.
I hope that doesn't come off as bragging as it is certainly not meant that way, but my point is that I have the benefit of being surrounded by people for whom I am thankful (and who are thankful for me) all of the time, and we regularly demonstrate that thanks.
Thus, I have the benefit of Thanksgiving being just another Thursday for me. While some might be miserable being cooped up at work on Thanksgiving, for me, it really makes no difference...and I am extremely thankful that is the case.
Our Thanksgiving will be non-traditional but perhaps may become tradition for a while as our kids go from college students to adults in the work force over the next few years. Those kids are something I am always thankful for...four kids from two marriages that are friends and love each other, enjoy being together, and all are working to make their lives successful. Of course, I am thankful for my wonderful wife. I have much to be thankful for!
We are headed to the company's deer lease for a few days. It is in the Hill Country of Texas. Thanksgiving dinner will be simple since we have limited cooking options. We will be far away from the daily routine. We'll have some quality Texas BBQ from a place called Cooper's in Llano, Texas. We'll visit a fort where Robert E Lee and many others were stationed before the Civil War. Perhaps we will look for the Old Yeller Statue (the author was from, and wrote the book while living, a town close to the deer lease). My son and I will enjoy several hunts (last year he took his first deer, a wonderful 8 pt buck) and perhaps bring home some delicious meat for the freezer and some great memories! There are modern conveniences like Directv, so we'll watch football, too. I am really looking forward to it...
I'm impressed that you & your wife are the Thanksgiving Day Volunteers @ The Salvation Army. I wish I can see you guys there @5am, but I get a thanksgiving-dinner with my family clan & the N.E. Salvation Army is a bit too far for me to drive to. Happy Thanksgiving to you & your wife.

You made a jpeg image of another post in another thread over a year old to post in this thread to reply too. Uh, okay?
Happy Thanksgiving.
Won't be visiting a casino tomorrow, but it was always a good place for a 2 million calorie Thanksgiving dinner when I did.

Monday thru Sunday ALL have/contain the word day within --- tomorrow is the 'only day of the week' that DOESN'T have the word DAY within, thanks for reminding me. Happy Thanksgiving as well.
Edit: Trivia
Actually the word Tomorrow reminded me of this little trivia question --- Can anyone/you name a day of the week (Monday - Sunday) that doesn't have the word DAY in it? I was just trying to joke around with the word 'tomorrow' within that persons (rxwine) post.
