I wasn't necessarily asking it again, everyone said I didn't given proper info so I was just restating it properly.
Thanks for that last post, it was perfect.
Going on vacation now, leaving at 4 am with kids is awesome fun.

Newb asked a question. I honestly think he was trying to get some guidance, he's probably at critical point in understanding and taking the next step from -EV to possibility +EV.

Here is the gist of it.Here is your adviceQuote: theoriemeister
1. Since I'm not playing to walk away with tons of money, what I really want to do is improve my winning percentage. My little knowledge of card counting leads me to believe that most systems have to do with how much to wager and when to wager it. First question: at what point does card counting alter basic strategy?Technically your right, but are you seriously that literal minded you didn't understand what he meant? Or were you trying to be a smart ass?Quote: mustangsallyby how much?Quote: theoriemeisterYet I'll still get my ass kicked at the table, which, as everyone here knows, is really frustrating. (However, that's when I'm glad I'm only losing $60 at that session, as opposed to the hundreds of dollars I see others around me lose!)
Anyway, I figure that my next level of training should be card counting. So, here are my questions to the community:
1. Since I'm not playing to walk away with tons of money, what I really want to do is improve my winning percentage.
card counting will not do this
if you want to go from winning 42 out of 100 to 49 out of 100 for example
here is from an expert
"There is a common misconception that you win many more hands at higher counts. Unfortunately this is not true."

i say try another game to have a winning percentage higher than BJ
if that is the #1 thing that matters to you the most
Roulette comes to mind at 18/38
Have fun (sounds like you do not)

If you look closely, you'll notice just about all of her posts are like this. Someone asks a question, maybe like 'is it good to bet a horn on the first roll?' Then she does math (which is correct) showing the first time a horn number is rolled is most likely to be a horn number.
I don't think what she's doing is right, that she's misleading members, not guiding them, but doing the opposite. Isn't the point of this forum to help, guide, and learn about gambling? She seems like the exact opposite kind of poster that we want.

sally is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct. i think the link posted is very valid/useful for someone who is new to card counting, the snark is the price you pay. a diverse group of posters is what makes a forum good.
That's all very well and good if one understands the snark, especially if it's some crackpot system bettor, but this guy seemed to be legitimately asking a question. Diversity is good, but there's a time and place for sarcasm, snark, ribbing etc etc. There's no good reason to missguid or confuse someone for sport driven by arrogance.Quote: tongniQuote: RSQuote: AxelWolfSally here is my point.
