Hello kind sirs. I'm from Canada but I have an opportunity that may take me to Las Vegas and I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a thriving Muslim community there. I know Las Vegas has a diverse group people but it is the utmost importnace to me that there are other Muslims there. Thank you in advance sirs.

Of course there are. There is even an Islamic Center.
Surprises me the number of Muslims I see patronizing everything here that they regard as unacceptable. You might want to avoid the breakfast buffets.

I don't know enough to try to characterize the Muslim community in the area generally and say whether it is 'thriving' or otherwise, but I'm aware of at least four mosques in the Las Vegas metro area, and there may be others.
One of them is in one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city (known as "West Las Vegas" for historical reasons even though it is now in the northern part of the urban core of the central city and not really 'west' at all) and is associated with a part of the local black community that is descended from several generations of Las Vegans who've remained in the same original family homes homes there since the days when it was primarily a railroad town, which is unusual in a city that has grown so much so recently with so much of the rest of the metro area's population being relatively recent arrivals. My understanding from people in that neighborhood is that this particular Islamic community was established in the 1960s-70s as an outgrowth of the African-American black identity political movements of that era, but continues to be active. This happens to be the one that I'm most familiar with simply because of location and my longstanding acquaintance with those folks who live in that central city area, though I suspect this is probably the smallest of them.
And there's another one on the close-in east side not far from the Strip and the airport that seems to be significantly associated with recent immigrants from some nations of north-eastern Africa, at least in my vague impression.
I would guess (but don't know for sure) that both the remaining two that I'm aware of may be more associated with middle-eastern or Asian Islamic traditions. These include one on the west side of town not far from Rainbow Blvd & West Flamingo Rd, along with the one out in the southeast part of town on East Desert Inn Rd not far from Boulder Hwy. I suspect (but don't know for sure) that these may be the larger ones.
I don't know anything about distinctions among them such as Sunni or Shia or other Islamic traditions, but these would likely be able to give more comprehensive information if you established contact with them:

I have met several Iranians in my neighborhood. Never asked about their religion as it is none of my business.

Vegas is too hot to walk around in a full fledged pharaoh costume.
Personally, I've never seen a muslim when I was in Vegas, not ever.

nah, I just realized my post made no sense considering a previous post I hadn't paid enough attention to
however, if you searched hard enough, you could find some of my stuff on the subject that is less than PC

I care not to dig into old posts, posts older than a day or two. Everyday is a new day, a new opportunity for us all, maybe especially for me.
