Confused about the differance between.....

What is the difference between being assigned a casino host and a casino sales executive? It sounds like the executive would wield more power and offer more advantages/comps but after talking to a sales executive, it seems like a host is one step higher on the ladder to providing the guest with the maximum value.

In my experience, casino 'host', 'player development', 'guest relations', 'sales' director/executive/coordinator, and probably about a half dozen other variations all roughly mean the same thing. Now they may mean something different within a particular property, but roughly the same.

I think of those corporate positions where everyone gets to make their own title to feel special. Like janitorial custodian.
