So I heard from the host and discussed my bankroll, average bet and number of hours play/day.
The host responded that, "based on my level of play" , all she could offer me was a casino rate room. She then asked if I was ready to book.
LOL

Wow!!!
Perhaps shes pro HOA and hates attorneys.
Quote: IbeatyouracesCosmo is only good for the eye candy.
I know I am not at B79's level of play but, I figured if Aria treats me so well, the Cosmo might have room at the inn for me

I ALWAYS mention speed count

The rooms are great. The games pretty much suck. And they are sweaty as hell.
And I wouldn't mention Speed Count. Mentioning any playing strategy just heightens their awareness of you. That's just my opinion.
And don't tell them your bet spread, just your average bet.
Quote: GreasyjohnSomething's not right. I bet if you tried another host you will get a better reception.

The speed count reference was pure sarcasm
I am not going to beg for a comped room - they just lost my business
Quote: VenthusEr. Wow. I've clocked a few hours green chipping (mostly at Freebet) and that's plenty for a steady stream of weekday rooms and free show tickets (mostly to people I don't know, but have heard mentioned).
I didn't even ask for the weekend
As much as Cosmo is pushing for players, they missed the boat with you, big time. At this point you are probably pissed enough that you would not give them another chance, but if you want another host's name, PM me.

No begging, I just think the host you spoke with is way off base for your betting level. I'd like to see if another host has a different opinion. I can't believe they wouldn't.

BAD dog, no biscuit! They "see" you, they are all somehow interconnected via the ethers?
They will continue to demand their "pound of flesh".
Welcome to my world.

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas: Just the wrong amount of right
Quote: 1BBThe people that these casinos put on the front line amazes me. Do they not know that they only get one chance to make a first impression? Incompetence, arrogance or both? Their loss.
Makes no sense to me - I hear of green chippers getting comps and they won't even take a chance on me...
Oh well, probably the same reason GNLV and GNAC only give me $45 match plays when my minimum bet is $100 -- either their marketing department is screwed up or they just don't want my business
Quote: BozI refered a friend to Cosmo, granted he is a Roulette player, but at a much smaller level than you. My host gave him 2 free nights to start and a very low casino rate for the other 2 nights. He played at the level he usually plays at CZR and was offered 4 free nights and $200 in Free Bets on his next trip, which he used. I understand he is played a 5%+ game for the house, but he would never risk or lose anything close to what you are willing to play.

I'm tempted to contact your Cosmo host just to show the host I communicated with that she missed the boat
Maybe you have to play rated one afternoon or evening rather than come in cold? IDK.
Quote: beachbumbabsGood grief, Ace! I played red chip craps and PGP for about 5 hours total, once, and started getting comp rooms there. Granted, that was last year, but WTH?

I don't get it at all.

Ace try another host I am real curious if you get the snub from two hosts.

I think this nails it.

I PMed you his info.
Quote: RogerKintTry Boz's host if you haven't already. My girlfriend has different results with different hosts. One will say all rooms are booked, another will put us in a suite for the same night at the same property.
Won't the host I emailed with already have me in the system under her account?

Thanks Boz - I just messaged him

casinos dont like blackjack players, that's all there is to it. if they could, they would replace the tables with a slot machine or at least a variant that has house edge > 1%. I green chip at GN and I either get nothing or a $5 match play.
Played craps there once after having a private room dinner at one of the upstairs restaurants with one of my close friends who was celebrating a big year financially and paying for everything. Needless to say the bill for 18 with premium wine being poured for all was out of sight.......we go downstairs to a craps table with four of us playing, my friend buys in for $1,500 and the rest of us are smaller players buying in for $500 each ($15 min table).
We are getting lousy service in getting our place bets set up correctly, getting odds set on come bets, etc.........I literally got in a stare down with the dealer at the other end of the table as he could tell we were getting sick of their poor dealing technique and saw me turn to my friend and say something under my breath (he didn't hear me as you can't hear anything in that place across from the other side of a 14' craps table).
After the next seven we all colored up and I vowed never to play there again.......many on the Forum know me, I am just not the type of guy to get upset with deal staff, I know how hard their jobs can be. But to stare down a customer with the look of "why don't you get the F off my table" was unbelievable and to me indicative of the Cosmo.
Just have never gotten a good vibe from that place as they seem to think they are "all that"........well guess what, you guys were so good you got foreclosed on by Deutsche Bank so suck on that!!
Oh, and my big player friend, routinely stays at the Aria and gets very well take care of by them.......MGM knows how to take care of their players. So Ace, stick with your Aria host or try and get a connection at any other MGM upscale property. Why even attempt to start a relationship at a property that re-buffed you from the start?
Quote: ParadigmAce, you have hit a hot button for me! I have to say that your customer service treatment at Cosmo is similar to what I have experienced......not on the comp front, but from deal staff.

I just got off the phone with Boz's host and he was very accommodating. He asked me to contact him as soon as I know my next trip dates and he will take care of it for me.
Paradigm - when I met you, you seemed like such a laid back, friendly guy - for a dealer to stare you down seems unconscionable as I am sure you were your usual affable self - makes me think twice about Cosmo

Good. Take what they give you and stiff 'em. Just kidding but tell me you didn't think of it. :-)

I wouldn't do that to Boz - he put his name on the line for me and would never screw anyone over like that.

Definitely kidding, would never hurt anyone on this forum or anywhere else. Maybe someone from Cosmo will see this and realize the foolishness of their ways.
I wonder if that host is on the board of any housing association.

Yep, it takes a lot to get my easy going self out of sorts.......particularly when I know what a dealer has to put up with on a regular basis. But not from me or guys that are lifelong friends of mine, I always go out of my way to let dealers know I appreciate what they do......my buddy was also a bit taken back by how upset I was about the situation.......of course it was his wife that the dealer at our end of the table almost immediately said "you can't stand there!" (next to him) as he dropped the 15 $100 bills on the layout......again, unbelievable!!! A simple "Miss, can I ask you stand just a bit to your left for me?", would have been appropriate......just rude!!!
The stare down was completely out of line particularly at a high class place like the Cosmo.......they have lost me for life as a customer (which really isn't a big deal), but my buddy on the other hand, is a big deal and I don't think he will be going back to play there either.......his net for the trip lost at the Aria alone was in your neighborhood & he knows a lot of folks that come to Vegas and play at that level.
Quote: AsswhoopermcdaddyYou had a bad experience probably with a newbie host. I've been comped there before the new players system ranking changed. I'm sure they would reconsider your action. Food is great and so is their gym facilities.
My original friend who referred me knows this host and she is in no way a newbie - she is pretty high up on the host food chain
