If you are going for a weekend getaway, a week away from work, or a hardcore international vacation, what is your daily Vegas budget?

Since everyone doesn't want to reveal what they play with, I will. Don't do weekends anymore and do Mon. through Fri. I try to do $800 to $1000 a day. Any less, I feel like I will miss out on the Vegas experience and spend time on worrying about my bankroll.....

I usually go Fri Night to Mon Afternoon and gamble hard the entire time. While I don't set a budget, I start getting a sinking feeling in my stomach around $3000.

Excluding the one typical live poker session for my trips, I'm around $100 a day max. For the live poker game, I am more in the $300 to $400 range.
I don't have to gamble very significant stakes in Vegas to have fun.

Probably $100-$200, including whatever I have to pay for food, but not including tips, which I account for separately, in a sense. It kind of floats, a winning day enables me to increase my budget for the following day(s), but I only really go to Vegas to have fun and don't care much about winning or losing. If I see something good I'll go after it, and I'll do the coupon books because those are essentially free money, but other than that, I'm just having fun.

Many of my Vegas trips I usually stay for 3 full days and 2 half days. For a trip of this length I set aside about $6k for gambling. I don't really break it down per day. I start when I get there and don't stop until the last day. I will slow down if I am losing, otherwise I keep going at a steady pace if about even or ahead.
I have an upcoming trip at the end of July this year. It will be my longest stay in Vegas. Five full days and 1 half day. I'm anticipating needing about the same since my brother will be driving in from California for a day or two and since he is not a gambler I will finally get a chance to sight see in Vegas. I have been to Vegas maybe 15 times and the only sight seeing I have done was a drive to a hobby shop to pick up a gift for my Godson three trips ago. On the way we must have passed four wig shops and six sex shops all on the same block.
I plan on going to Hoover Dam. Maybe see a comedy show as well.

$530 / 3.2 = $165.25 or thereabouts.
But should I count getting my oil changed & picking up the dry cleaning?

I budget about $150 a day for gambling. Mostly craps as I can play UTH , BJ , PGP, and Spanish 21 at my local card room.

I prefer 3-4 night trips and I like to have $750-$1,000 a day budgeted for everything. $500 is the minimum for my local trips since it is three hours or more to a "local"... I have cut way back on locals, cutting the total gambling budget, but concentrating on trips to Vegas 2x a year when possible.
My local favorite is an NA casino and supposedly has the loosest slots in Louisiana based on one of the magazines but the overall increase in slot hold--which there have been some articles documenting--just don't make slotting as good of an experience (the money doesn't last as long as it used to) for our gambling dollar. My wife does the slot play; I only play tables. Since the dollar isn't lasting as long and it has been a long time since a winning slot trip, we've cut back and saved for Vegas because it is so much better to be there than at any local. More things to do when you call it a day on the gambling side.

Sounds like me. However, the $3k does not include any food/transportation and I get a free room.

RonC, is that Coushatta? I barely see anyone on this site talking about Louisiana casinos.
Anyway for OP, my last Vegas trip I brought $500 cash for I think a 4 night stay. I budgeted gambling separate from all other expenses. That was a few years ago; I play a bit higher these days.
Lately I have more often been doing 1-2 night trips to the "local" casinos about a 2 hour drive away, and budget around $200-300 for a trip.
Next time I go to Vegas, I'll probably budget $200/day for gambling. Although I might think twice about even that much. As far as vacations go, that's kind of a lot for just the "entertainment" portion of a budget - and that's not counting going to shows which I'm sure I would want to do.

I hope I didn't break any quoting rules...!!
Yes, it is Coushatta. The slot director there is a member of another board I frequent and he is a great person to have a conversation about gaming issues.

I recieved a nice barbecue platter from Coushatta when I first went there and got a players card. Unfortunately, that's the only thing I've ever brought home from there. La Berge (sp) I've done well at, the old Harrah's I did well at, before it was washed away in the hurricane. But Coushatta killed me both times I've been there. Probably just variance, don't know. But I haven't been back.
The Horseshoe in Bossier City I used to do very well at and the play there used to pay for rooms in Vegas and Tahoe. But after I took a few years off due to my wife's health and dropped from Diamond to Gold, I haven't wanted to drive 6 hours up there to play. Especially since my old host has moved on and starting all over again there hasn't had a great appeal to me.
But now it seems almost like I'm hijacking this thread so I'll shut up.

Check out Golden Nugget Lake Charles. Very nice facility. High table limits though (comparable to lauberge). I believe they have synced up their rewards with GN LV.

It depends who I am with if I am with anyone at all. If I am bringing my girl with me a higher percentage will be spent on nice dinners and stuff like that, and I would budget $200 per day for gambling, but might not gamble everyday so instead of 5 separate $200 sessions it might be 2 separate $500 session which would enable me to play at slightly higher stakes.

I generally do 3 or 4 night trips - so I take between 5 and 10k depending on the group I'm going with. When its gone I am done for the trip.
Was there in January for NFL playoffs and had worst two days of my gambling career and was out of money. Sunday rolled around and hit both my sports bets and then had a monster craps roll and left town almost exactly even.
Good times.

My best friend lives in New Orleans. He told me they had opened there. He drives there or to Biloxi to play. He hates Harrah's so doesn't play at home. They are synced with GN in Vegas. Both owned by Landry's. I'll check it out one day when I drive to see Mike in New Orleans.

I would say my daily budget would be around $300 to $400 as the place is Las Vegas itself.

My budget when I visit Vegas is around $350 - $400 per day without gambling, and with, around $550 to $600. Of course, some days it's more and some days it's less. Just depends on what I'm doing and where I'm eating for that day.
