Current best buffet? Have not been in a few years and I remember the rio was good (lobster tails)
What's the best now? best value?
thanks
Best value: MSS, but this is highly open to personal preference, as CP is not. If you're interested in best value, there are some really amazing breakfast buffets around town for under $10.
You also have some super fancy brunches around town, Sterling brunch at Bally's is $85 a head I think. Your reference to Rio is their seafood buffet. Just take note that they charge locals less than tourists.
Quote: DnalorailedNever ate there...but stayed at Caesars Palace in December 2012. Bacchanal buffet had an hour long line every night. I think the price was about $50 per person. Could pay an extra $20 to skip the line or could cut the line if you were Diamond or 7 Stars. Plus they were playing sexy music at that place at 8 o'clock in the morning! I wanted to go, but my traveling companion did not.
Can cut the line with Platinum.
I do it all the time and hardly gamble at CET.
Downtown lowroller :-)
Signed up for the Total Rewards Visa, instant Platinum status. I never carry over a balance so no cost and earn points.
With the points, eat for free at the Bachanal
Terapined, that is a smart move.
Quote: RomesIf I want to devour Lobster Tails and Crab Legs, what buffets are my best bet?
I'm not much into seafood but my wife and sister really like the Rio buffet for the crab legs.
And I have to agree with whoever said Caesars was way over rated.
We stayed there in 2011 and got to bypass the line and everything.
Had we had to stand and wait for an hour I would have been pissed.
But then, I would rather order off of a menu anyway. We tried it because everybody just raved about it.
1. Wynn
2. Cosmo Wicked Spoon
3. Bellagio

Hated Caesars with a passion. Ate there twice. First time was meh, second time was horrible. Service was terrible. Food selection was not as good as the $50 price tag would suggest.
I've eaten as Cosmo many times. It would be number 1, but they don't have the same dishes every night and it has some "off" days where I can't find much that I like.
Good to know, I haven't tried that yet. No comps available there and I won't pay $40 for a buffett. I don't eat enough to make it worth it.Quote: ams288Here is how I'd rank them:
2. Cosmo Wicked Spoon
.
btw: If you want Old Bay at Bachanal, the seafood department has it, they can put it in a butter cup for you.
Once again, this is not me endorsing it. In terms of value, Bachanal is near the bottom.
Quote: ahiromuCaesar's is a total ripoff, the crab legs are nothing special, and my waiter left his shift before finding me my damn Old Bay. However, that dessert bar is a life-changing experience and pretty much everything else is top notch.
Same thing happened to me. Our server literally just disappeared! Someone else told us his shift was over but we still saw him wandering around.
We eventually just got up and poured our own drinks from the pitchers of soda they had at the server's station.
And Cosmo's dessert station is better. Basically all the fancy buffets have amazing dessert selections.

Next time I'm out there I'll take you to the Cosmo buffet. They sent me 2 nights plus a bunch of Identity bucks to spend in the restaurant, so I'll have to stay and enjoy it. Probably January.

You are cheating on me with Axel? I'll be in Vegas Jan 8-11. You KNOW which buffet we'll be going to!
Makino sushi and seafood buffet! GREAT sushi. Great crab legs. Adequate cooked options for my son who doesnt eat sushi or seafood. Around $15 for lunch, $25 for dinner. I prefer it there over ANY casino buffet. (No lobster tails)
Bacchanal--- I thought it was excellent, just as advertised, but as others have said, for around $60 a person no buffet seems 'worth' it. I used my buffet of buffet pass, and I think I had to pay another $25 a person, which I used my Caesars points for.
Rio Seafood buffet-- Also loved it, as I lost count of the small lobster tails I was devouring. Same deal as above, I think it was $15 extra per person.
Rio Carnival buffet-- I think the food is B-.... not horrible, but I will only go there if a friend insists.....
I also had lunch at the Gold Coast buffet, which I thought was a great value for the $8 or so I paid. Nothing fancy, but I din't think the food was any worse than the Rio carnival buffet.
I've eaten at the Wynn and Bellagio buffets, and thought they were both fine, but not worth the money...

I generally agree with this order
I will put Mandalay Bay and Mirage right after Bellagio.
If taking the price into account, Mirage is almost on top, it includes unlimited wine and beer ( about $15 value). Same for Mandalay Bay.
I had the best beef and mushroom dish ever (Wagyu beef) at Katsuya Japanese restaurant.
A friend and member here (you know who you are) munched half of it himself, I hope he gains 3 pounds.
Mandalay Bay used to be 3x better. I ate there just about every day for a month when they first opened. I told my friends how good it was so we went recently and I was very disappointed.Quote: pokerfaceI generally agree with this order

We had the Mandalay Bay buffet this summer for dinner and I thought it was pretty good at that time. Included Beer and Wine as well. A nice touch.
I try to see or do something I haven't done before each trip, so that led us to Silverton (Mermaid thing) and I thought the weekend brunch was excellent.

I might be wrong but I believe it was the Rio that really changed the buffett standards, certainly for locals. Including the high standards for cocktail waitresses.
MB is not bad i'm just surprised it's in the top 5.
I know The M used to be very good, not sure if it's changed.
I put zero vale on beer and wine You can get that practically free(sitting at the bar you can get them as fast as you can drink them), even the good stuff 24/7(minus tipping of course)

If wine is not paired with the right food, I would just drink tap water.
Drinking at the bar, means the wine is paired with the worst of the worst food, no food.
Wine at dinner is a million times more value than at other times.
A buffet doesn't scream dinner and wine. I dislike wine anyway.Quote: pokerfaceIf wine is not paired with the right food, I would just drink tap water.
