Who is it that doesn't tip? Just read this the other day and forgot it. I know they're called a stiff, but I saw where they had a name. Anyone know the name?

I'd say a flea is more than just a non-tipper. A flea is someone who, usually through lack of awareness, makes the game more difficult for the dealer. Constantly coloring up and coloring back down, for example.

I thought "flea" was also a term for a very low roller, sort of a contrasting term to "whale".

A non-tipper in a casino is a "Tom."
The term is not in common usage, but that's what it is.

flea an annoyingly low roller, a pauper, one who panhandles until he gets a sufficient buy-in.
grinder one who stands there making the same bet all day long, never parlaying his bets or pressing his luck.
George one who tips generously.

In UK police slang, a Tom is a prostitute...

Who was this guy George who was such a good tipper that they named good tipping after him?
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Look at the front of a $1.00 USD. That is where it comes from I was always told.

My understanding is that a long time ago, you didn't play with $1s, $5s, $25s and $100s, you played with $0.01s, $0.05s, $0.25s and $1.00s. A $1 bet made you a high roller, and a $1 tip was a big deal. Hence, a George.

Also pertains to slots or VP; someone who plops down at any machine regardless of payout schedule, bonus rounds, colors or lights just so they can have a smoke of flag down a free drink.
a.k.a.: zippy's girlfriend.
I like the 100-play VP machines, and it irritates the hell out of me when the only two 100-play machines in the whole casino are taken by some bozos who are playing a single line. They can do that anywhere, MUST you take a seat there?

For those who don't know. If you said to a dealer, "Is he fun to have at your table?" and they answered, "He's George."
This, I believe, is how term would be used.
