calijeff, read the forum rules, please. We ask you not to come on here and spam us with ads for third parties. However, this seems more like an attempt to provide information of value to some of the members than pure spam, so I'm going to leave it here for now. I hope your intent is good, and you came here to enjoy the forum.
Those of you who live in Vegas, is this spam? Or useful information?

SPAM.
Quite simply, first post on same day of registration. If it was a member who had been around and had some "respect points" I would give it a pass. As it is the thing is like the person who joins Rotary or comes to a meetup.com meet and the first day wants to talk to everyone about Amway.
Based that it is not blatant my vote is nuke the post and warn but not suspend the poster. With new management we do not want to appear unfriendly but there are still standards.
VOTE: KEEP.
Quote: teddysLooks like a good deal with some very good value in the card. They say they were started in April of this year via crowdfunding. American Casino Guide and Las Vegas Advisor have very similar promotions. Smart gamblers will know how to play it :)
This was more along the lines of how I took it; a new product that might be useful, looking at the stuff. Many members have posted similar info. But several indications that it's pure spam, though I'm not seeing how the poster benefits.

I think you're off on this one. Anytime someone comes and on their first post advertises something, it's spam. If you don't want to nuke the person, at least nuke the post and send a warning. 90% chance the person will never return.

Every member here is intelligent enough to look at that site briefly if they are interested and decide if it offers sufficient value for their situation.

You killed the link in the original post...was it one of those with a personal identifier, where the OP would have received a piece of the sales that were driven to the site? (like the Amazon link that used to be at the bottom of this site)

or maybe the OP owns the site. I say take it down if the OP doesn't come back to comment on it.

No, there was no link. That's part of what made me look at it twice. I haven't edited it at all.
SPAM:
Something for sale
click-thru link (this doesn't have)
First post
No further participation
Possible multiple identity person; indefinite but some indication
NOT SPAM:
Extremely similar info to long member conversations about value cards and such; see Mission to Vegas threads from earlier this year re: ACG etc, and even in the AC thread this hour, a similar discussion on competitive comps.
No click-thru or direct sales benefitting the poster (unless it's his site)
Genuinely useful freeplay at numerous casinos
New product not before covered here
Jury's still out for me.

I don't think it needs an affiliate link to be spam. What if the poster is an owner of employee of the company? Its not normal to sign up to a site and post a link as your first post.

Sure it is, well for sure if you are a Spammer. I hate being the Spammee !
Thanks for a FUN filled moment here AZD. Rumor has it that the new management team does not approve of FUN filled comments.
+++ Babs +++ I received that rumor in an email , not a PM. So I have not violated any current rule. Tomorrow may be another story.
