Rewards points for non-winning lotttery + scratch-offs

I bought a lotto ticket in md.
on it said 'rewards points code.'
apparently, md is the 6th state to offer rewards points for losing scratch-off and lotto tickets .

1000 points for hoop earrings or stainless steel dog bowl.
I'm assuming 1000 points = $1000 worth of non-winning tix.
so basically 1% back?
kinda like mycokerewards.com, where you redeem codes from Coca-Cola products
