I just got this news yesterday at the craps table from Harvey, Cleve, Kathy, and Veronica. They are very happy about the sale. Cleve, especially, is one of my favorite dealers anywhere in Vegas, and this is a great crew. Their spirits seems good about where things are going. I hear so much doom and gloom from dealers going around to the various casinos, it was really nice to hear them all excited.

Seriously, don't you have to be an idiot to buy one?
Really missed the days of LVH when it was the Hilton and the Star Trek Experience was still around.
LVH is one of my very favorite places in Vegas. The $4 price of the buffet for locals is one really good value. We eat there twice a week. Also one of my favorite BJ games. The game itself is mediocre, but the sidebet.....:-)
Also the CEO didn't want to make any comment until AFTER the sale is complete but he cannot talk about the sale at all.......pretty much sums it up right there.
IMO I think the property is probably in a good location for timeshare units. It is a little off the strip and also is close enough to the golf course. I think it might work......
There is a Hilton timeshare right next to LVH. We stayed in it once and it was nice. You can book it like a hotel and get a really nice 1 or 2 BR suite with a full kitchen. And also isn't the LVH on the monorail line ?

I agree with you about the value but overall I consider it a terrible buffet. I really hated how they had that Italian theme for three straight months. I thought the choices were terrible.
It is. LVH station is the next to last stop, before Sahara.Quote: JohnnyQAnd also isn't the LVH on the monorail line ?

Um, that will be SLS :)
Good, because even that vowel challenged name will have a better ring to it than "Sahara Avenue Station" and the nice touristy view of wind blown trash at the ass-end of, er, ah, "did this place use to be something?"Quote: TomspurUm, that will be SLS :)

They are putting some work into the area, putting a pharmacy and shops on the norteast end as well as the events area on the southwest end which should hopefully bring some people in. Also once RWLV is done, that part of the strip won't be quite as dead I would imagine?
Anyway, I start working at SLS on the 8th August so, yeah :)
I understand the Resorts World "first phase" is supposed to include something like 3,000 rooms? Eventually over 6,500? Should help a lot. The Echelon skeleton did not help.Quote: TomspurThey are putting some work into the area, putting a pharmacy and shops on the norteast end as well as the events area on the southwest end which should hopefully bring some people in. Congratulations on the new gig, welcome in advance to fabulous Las Vegas, and now let me think of how to be the first one with a story intended to cause the redistribution of some medium of exchange.

I have been in Vegas for 5 years now, just had a temporary gig overseas that had to be completed.....
I love a little back and forth. Stories I mean :)
Ah then, I'm not quite technically local for most definitions (unless there's a buffet discount involved - when I'm local as dirt) so I'm sure nothing I cook up would merit your top 10 list after 5 years of collecting them.Quote: TomspurI have been in Vegas for 5 years now, just had a temporary gig overseas that had to be completed.....

I did eat the LVH buffet on Saturday there. 25% local discount plus $15 comp money is what it cost me on that day.
Yesterday I ate the Bellagio Buffet. I enjoyed them both equally for the things that I ate around breakfast time, but the LVH was a better bargain.
If you go to the Bellagio at 3:15, dinner starts at 3:30 and you still get the brunch price which is significantly cheaper.
I barely gamble at all at MGM properties because they are so stingy on comps.
the time limit? That is common to see 1.5-2 hrs. at bottom of buffet receipts in Vegas, or maybe not uncommon is more accurate. Places like Palms and the M where alcohol is included people seem to just lounge around and drink after they are done eating.Quote: 1BBInteresting comment at the bottom of the receipt.

I don't do many buffets and don't look at the receipt but it makes sense now that I think about it. Nobody wants the the football team spending a long afternoon at their buffet.

I noticed somethign similar at the Bacchanal, too. At the McDonald's in Harmon and the Strip, there are signs on the walls asking patrons to limit their stay to 30 minutes.
And so it begins....or ends, depending on your point of view.

Can I take "continues" for 500? Or "repeats" perhaps?*
*And then maybe buy a vowel, and donate it?
