So the call was pretty cordial. I wished my mother a happy mother's day of course, and expressed how appreciative I was for all that she did for me when I was growing up. We chit chatted a bit and I said I hoped I could visit with her next month when I come to town for my brothers college graduation. I don't know if anything will come of it. It takes both sides, but I feel good for reaching out.
Quote: kewljYesterday was Mother's day and while my mother isn't a part of my life, nor has she been since my 18th bday, when I left home, I decided to reach out and call her yesterday. This move was inspired by the recent passing of Wizards father and the love that they obviously had for one another. It reminded me that, you never know just how much time your parents or any of us, for that matter have.

That is great kewljj - while making a phone call seems easy - that type of call is anything but - very brave and noble.
Many people will simply let it go and never make an effort as for some people the family bond is simply not that important.
I feel there is nothing more important in the world than having some contact with your family.
Good for you and I hope something good comes from this!!!
