Single number bet : If I lose its all gone in one spin, If I win its a whopping 35 times 5 which is 175,000 dollars.
Do nothing : My only option if the five grand has to be my money.
Even money, EV = 6148.65, 48.6% chance you get 10000, 51.4% chance you get 2500
Don't bet, EV = 5000, and that's what you get
If you won't miss the money, go for the single number.
If take even money in BJ, go with even money here. Why change?
If you won't make the mortgage with a 2500 loss, keep the money in your pocket.
Edit: Added second two recommendations.
Of course! Could not possibly lose twice in a row on an even money bet. And the best part is you have a 26.4% chance to lose it all.Quote: FleaStiffEven money bet : If I lose I get to make another 2500 even money bet.
Edit: Pointed out the chance of busting.
Single number bet: 45.95% player advantage.
Yum yum.
Is this a real promotion?Quote: chrisrYou have the option of placing a single bet of exactly $5,000 in roulette (single zero). If you loose half the stake is refunded.

nah, i wish.
Obviously the single number bet is the most advantageous. But it carries more risk since 97% of the time you lose $2500.
I think in general people are more risk adverse than they are here and would not bet anything. But on this forum I was expecting everyone to take option 1 or 2.

Of course it is possible to lose two bets in a row, but at least I've got Double the action going. Why trek to Vegas to make one bet and walk away from it when you can make two bets and walk away? Heck, in that extra time the Tray Lizard might finally show up with my watered down drink.
Now you can say its mathematically better to do the ONE bet, but after an eight hour flight, I sure want that watered down drink and extra spin of the wheel.
Forget the betting and that $2500 will get you all the real drinks you can suck down, a fine meal, a hotel room and a "date."Quote: FleaStiffQuote: BleedingChipsSlowlyOf course! True, but if I win the bet, I can still get the booze, the meal, the room ... and a younger "date" to rob me of my chips in the middle of the night. The only "date" worth anything in Vegas is some sort of fruit from the Levant... I think its a dried fig or something. I've not even seen them in grocery stores in years.Quote: BleedingChipsSlowly]Forget the betting and that $2500 will get you all the real drinks you can suck down, a fine meal, a hotel room and a "date."
