Quote: terapinedI just got done planning my Vegas Mar 22 to 27 so I can bet on March Madness basketball.
Now I live on the East Coast and work a typical Mon to Fri 9 to 530pm job. Just a regular job with regular hours.
Friday is usually a busy day at work so I might get off at 530pm, then again, it may be 7pm.
Therefore, when I fly to Vegas, I can only leave East Coast Sat morning at the earliest for Vegas.
I'm booking my hotel 2 1/2 months early.
Was thinking of staying at Main St Station.
They wont allow a Sat checkin.
Even the California wont allow a Sat checkin.
WTF.
I work a regular M-F job.
I think it absolutely sucks that some Vegas hotels wont accommodate East Coasters with a Sat checkin.
If I take a week vacation, it generally starts on a Sat. That's very common.
Why cant some Vegas hotels accommodate me.
Slow economy, Vegas needs business and I get dissed instead of offers.
Staying at the 4 Queens, allows sat checkin and no resort fee.
Just tired of that hotel and wanted to stay elsewhere for a change.
I've never had a problem checking in or out of any hotel on any day I've wanted. But I never stay downtown; I don't know what kinds of policies they have there.
not get a room on Sat. So it just sits there vacant
on a Sat nite? Doesn't make sense.
That is my only idea on the topic, otherwise it would seem daft not to allow Saturday check ins as Saturday nights are premium and they can charge more.....why not fill the mother up??
Real weird, never heard of that before!
Here's the thing. If the hotel would be full, it makes sense that they don't want to take a Saturday reservation. There are probably not too many people who check out on a Saturday morning, so, if you use up the room for Saturday but not Friday, you are stopping someone else from using the room on Friday (which costs them money).
On the other hand if it won't be full anyway then it doesn't matter. Maybe they don't want to try to predict this, so they don't allow Saturday checkins by default. Have you tried calling them and asking?

Every single Sat for the next 3 months, Boyds downtown hotels are not sold out any of those Saturdays. They actually list a price for every Saturday. They will sell a Saturday with other days , any Saturday, you just cant start your reservation on a Saturday.
Now I can buy Friday nite prior to Sat but that's ridiculous, My trip is scheduled for Sat to Thur, 5 nights. Why buy an expensive Fri nite I'm not gonna use.
No way I'm flying to Vegas without a confirmed hotel reservation.
Maybe I should call, but I figured it wouldn't do any good. When I book on Boyd, I enter my players card number so they know I'm a low roller on the booking site.
Maybe its a low roller thing.
Quote: ahiromuHave you tried calling them directly? I believe from your previous postings, you have some play with them, so even if you have to supposedly pay up front, you might be able to get a host to just use some work arounds.
I do have some play at Boyds. Been trying to give them more business by staying there last trip(Freemont) and trying to play more there.
That said, I am only playing VP with 99.54 or higher. I think I am playing a lot, check my players card points and not much there.
Anyway, staying at the 4 Queens. I love their video poker, location , no resort fee, allow Sat checkin.
They should get my business so I'm good. Its just that I have stayed there so many times, change is nice. Just ranting a bit.
