About 6 weeks ago I went down to make their football picks and my dads card wouldn't work. It kept saying invalid card. I thought maybe I ruined it so I ran home and grabbed another one and went back to try it again. Again it said invalid card. Owell, no big deal its not like I ever pick the correct teams anyways. I also couldn't use the free play because they had a trip planned on Sunday. The following week when I saw my parents I told my dad that his card wasn't working and he told me he got a new one and gave me a new card. OK no big deal and it has been fine ever since.
So last week my wife and I went down and she forgot her card. She got a new card printed and we continued to play. On Friday night I went down to do the picks and I went to do her picks using the card that I have always had and it said invalid card. Again I was a little confused. When I got home I grabbed her new card and compared it to the one that I have always had and the numbers were different. We went back down last night for dinner and while we were there we swung over to the players club to ask about the numbers. I thought maybe they created a new card for her not realizing that she was an existing player. The players club lady explained to us that once you forget or lose your card they can not not reprint the same number. They have to create a brand new card. It is still linked to your original account but it is a new number. She explained that they have had some complaints of people losing their card and people stealing their comps. I guess that is possible but once you guess their pin wrong 3 times it locks the card. I am wondering if they are doing this to combat people who are sharing comps like we do with our parents.
I asked her if we could get 2 cards printed with the same number so we can play 2 machines at once and she said it was not possible. I find that hard to believe but I guess it is possible. Has anyone else experienced this before?
Quote: GWAEMaybe this is nothing new to some places but it is something that I encountered for the first time. The Rivers casino in Pittsburgh is only 5 miles from my house so quite often we will run down there for dinner comps or free play and just leave. We also have copies of my parents cards and when they are not using their free play we go down and use it. They also have a promo where you can make football picks and the best picks get money. I have had copies of my parents cards since they opened approx 3 years ago.

Maybe laws are different in Pittsburgh, or Rivers has that policy. That has not been my recent experience other places; I almost always get more cards than 1, because I do occasionally play 2 machines, and I also prefer to have one on a leash and one in my wallet for table play; no one has ever denied me a 2nd card. Also FWIW, my TR number has not changed in almost 20 years. However, when the LV Hilton went in and out of Resorts, and then lost the Hilton brand, I was issued a new number each time. I think maybe they changed vendors on the player's club or something.
Quote: sabreThis is something new that they started 6 months ago. I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish. Honestly, they're probably not sure what they're trying to accomplish.
The one part that makes her sad is that we have one of the first cards issued. We went down to the off site place months before they ever opened to get a card. Her number was something like 12400000000 now it is just a bunch of random numbers.
Quote: 1BBYou would not believe how many people choose 1234 for their pin number.
I'd better change the combination on my luggage...j/k
Can you name the movie?
