the article does a nice job summarizing the history of the gambling industry, but really doesn't back up its gloomy outlook.
NJ is the most densely populated state in the union. there will always be a market for casino gaming there.
las vegas has such a head start on entertainment and amenities that -- failing a huge expansion of casino-resorts in southern california -- it will rule the western market for some time.

His point is, that's what they said about Detroit. Vegas
is suffering from the slow death of a thousand cuts.
