Someone wanted to be admitted but felt he should not have to pay the full cover charge.
He let off a few rounds, killing the doorman but was jumped by casino patrons and casino
security personnel.
All they had to do was refund his money or give him a story such as we can't give you cash, but we can give you chips for that amount..just come this way.... and get him physically isolated. He killed a patron who grappled for the gun and shot a doorman who he had argued with. Don't know if doorman died or not.

Huh?

I doubt that Drai's is authorized to give people casino chips like that. (I'm pretty sure Bally's doesn't own it.) I do agree though that they should have calmed the guy down as soon as the situation started to escalate.

Ofcourse they can't... but how long does it take an alcohol sodden brain to figure that out? Meanwhile he is walking quietly to the desk where they can give him the chips or the certificate for the chips or whatever... and crowds of patrons are slowly becoming crowds of security personnel. Whatever incident takes place takes place away from crowded areas, such as club entrances and lines of people going in or going out or waiting around. Get someone into a corridor or get him into an open area where the closest people to him will be the ones with sport jackets and earphones. An escalating situation may continue to escalate......... just make sure its in seclusion or at least in relative safety.

You don't think he'd get even more pissed after figuring out that he had just been lied to??? Lying to the guy would have resulted in more dead bodies, IMHO.
Rough town, Las Vegas.
He was arrested on an attempted murder charge for a June 30, 1996, incident. Police sources said the shooting happened at a topless strip club.
But Frazier, then represented by longtime defense lawyer John Momot, cut a deal with prosecutors and plead guilty to assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to perform community service and take impulse control counseling.
Most recently, Frazier was charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery for a fight on Feb. 29, 2012, when he punched a man and kicked another. He pleaded guilty in November 2012 to one count of battery and was sentenced to six months probation and alcohol counseling."- review journal

Big news E.Coast bowling alley brawl involves 250. This late Sat. nite Sunday AM.
C'mon! That was in a Piscataway bowling alley! Everyone knows that Piscataway is like the Wild Wild West of sleepy 'burbs. You take your life into your own hands when you drive on 287 through Piscataway!Quote: 98ClubsBig news E.Coast bowling alley brawl involves 250. This late Sat. nite Sunday AM.
But seriously, that Reno thing was awful!
It's actually not as bad as all the hype. I'm always walking the Strip by myself during those hours, and it's no biggie. Granted, there's no way in hell I'd venture off the Strip (not even a block), but anyplace between the Wynn and MGM should be fine.Quote: kewljEver notice how these things always happen between 3am and dawn. Lol. As a local, you won't find me anywhere near rhe strip at that time of night. Nothing good can come from it.
Yep, but only temporarily.Quote: rxwineVictor Drai inside Bally's "Drai's" nightclub. ( I said the same thing, nightclub? Ballys?)
I spent everyday, All day in all the different casinos in the 90's even north town casinos. I never seen or caught wind of such things, the only people that ever bothered me in casinos were security and casino management. With the exception of some kid pulling a knife on me in Laughlin, over a pool game, he dropped it and ran.Quote: anonimussI have a friend who lived in Vegas through most of the 90s. He was very familiar with the casino scene. He told me people got killed during robberies all the time in Las Vegas. He said many robberies and killings occurred inside casinos. It was never well publicized for obvious reasons.
As for the bars in Vegas, well people got killed

All the Harrah's people were pretty upset about this today. They also had a funeral for a popular dealer who went at 48; pretty somber all around.

I asked why there was so much security at Planet Hollywood today and a dealer mentioned the Bally's shooting. That and Florida was at the bar. Then the pit boss threatened to shoot me because I was winning so much of their money at blackjack. In a kidding way of course.
Now we can see his continued progress in Anger Management as he gets free room and board for the next forty years.

He spent 8 - 10 hours minimum a day in casinos during that time. As I said, he said people got robbed and sometimes killed in the casinos and it seldom made headlines for obvious reasons. I know him. I know he knows what he is talking about. In Vegas anybody can get a license to carry. He had one.

Are you talking on the casino floor? If so, that seems so hard to believe. If you mean in the hotel rooms, then how did your friend find out about everything? Also, how long ago did these supposed killings take place? I could possibly believe it if they occurred, say, 60+ years ago, but post-2000 is a different story.
