I prefer the graveyard, but have found the better craps games to happen in the early morning, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

When I was a single swing-shift dealer, I'd gamble after work, 3:30AM to 6AM or so, and got used to that time frame.
Now it's 7PM to 11PM after daytime work.
I will say that a lot of serious crap players get together at like 7AM sunday morning, to avoid the annoying crap players typical of Saturday night midnight.
The Breakfast Club, so to speak.

Early morning weekdays only. Less people, less smoke. Hit, run and enjoy the rest of the day.

Early morning.
The crews are capable, the tables are not particularly crowded though there are some players there who have been there all night long, the cocktail waitresses are fewer and interrupt less often. (Sometimes a CW will just bring me 1OJ and 2H2O bottles in one trip without even being asked). The pace is slower, particularly if you've just opened the table and the crew doesn't mind if you play slow.
Lesson time: The craps instructor will recognize me and be puzzled as to why I am there but its a nice break and a way to slow down the betting for awhile because everyone else is a newbie.
Afternoon: My companion will still be at the Spa or at the Fashion Mall or something, so I can wander around a bit and sample the vibes in the Craps Pit as well as in the MiniBacc area.
Late Night: Crowded hectic but if you are tipping the dealers are watching out for you and the young provocatively dressed ladies abound. The high rollers are at the tables, the joint is hoppin'. If there is going to be some Monster Roll... its usually when the table is jam packed with the moneyed crowd!
The above comments relate to gambling in a casino. If gambling on one of the Day Boats, the answer is simple: From opening Bell to Closing Bell. You have no choice in the matter. You've paid for the entire voyage and you might as well use up the time while you are in international waters to gamble because there just isn't all that much else to do.

Lately just gambling in Vegas on my once or twice a year trips that are 3 to 6 days long. When in Vegas,, I gamble anytime. Get up, gamble, eat, wander, sight see, gamble, eat , wander, gamble, eat, wander, gamble go to bed. Repeat untill I leave.
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

When in Vegas I love playing craps fri and sat night at planet Hollywood, I just love the excitement in the atmosphere. But I like to play blackjack early morning or late night to avoid the crowded tables.

I would rather gamble with more people around; the exception is when it's so crowded, I struggle to find the game I want to play. When very few people are around reminds me I'm more of a degenerate. :(
