Quote: Beethoven9thAbout a month ago, I had the unpleasant experience of having my worst losing streak of all-time. I was playing craps and lost 21 Don't Pass bets in a row. (This occurred over the span of a week) It was ridiculous.
My previous 'record' was losing 15 sports bets in a row, which occurred about a dozen years ago. Anyone here beaten this streak? ;)
That's not that bad...Technically, I've seen 16 "losers" in a row on the crap table....I was playing the DP and I literally hit craps/7-out 16 times in a row (no points made, nor come-out 7/11's thrown!) I turned my last $30 back into the original $900.

The difference between 16 and 21 is roughly a factor of 32 though. A streak of 16+ don't pass is already pushing the bounds of human likelihood, a streak of 16+ don't pass (pushes count) is about 1 in 106k comeout rolls on average. For 21+ don't pass, its about 1 in 3.18M.

I used k = 16 or 21; p = 0.507

Sadly enough, there were no pushes. :(
Quote: BigJerMaybe a little OT but I'm in this BJ losing streak that has gone on for a few months. I've only won five times.
Is that 5 bet
Quote: Beethoven9thIs that 5 bets or 5 sessions? I literally made 21 consecutive Don't Pass bets that lost.
5 sessions.

Not consecutive...you just had horrible timing...
You lost 5x in a row, so you left...
When you came back, you lost 6x in a row, so you left...
Came back again to lose ANOTHER 5x in a row, so, again, you left...
Thinking you'd give it one more shot...the dealers belted out "passssss line WINNNNA" another 5x....
Very easy...hell, I could do that ad naseum...
Start with $5 on the DP and keep doubling for each loss...you'll eventually get the dealers to have a little mercy and send you on your way, back at even...

after you talk them into raising the limit to $ 10,485,760.00

That's t
5 or 6 straight wins, sure..but get up past that...casinos would be closing doors....
Quote: TIMSPEEDI guess I'm just the unluckiest SOB alive...but I've never seen a crap table that went 9 straight pass line winners without a crap number or a 7-out..

Google longest crap roll. Grandma over the 4 hour mark. She didn't really know what she was doing. Talk about positive variance. Like hitting the Powerball this Wed. for 450 million.
and I myself had a 104-roll hand (nearly 2 hours)...but that's not to say that on EVERY COME OUT there was NEVER A CRAP NUMBER (to make a don't player a winner)
Walked in, sat down at a BJ table and lost the first 10 hands....
got up, switched tables and lost the first 10 hands...
got up, switched tables and lost the first 10 hands...
30 lost hands in a row!!!

If you hard charted the dealers first, like John Patrick suggested, things would have been different. LOL

All the original stories have been retained in Play Hard, Score Big including John Patrick's masterful, THE ALTAR OF THE BOY , David Laurents' THE GREENHORN , and the controversial CHERRY NO MORE by Jason Carpenter. Must have something to do with when I was a movie stunt double for Curtis Holmes.

I know JOHN Holmes...?
He lost millions, then went prison. It was not a good day for the Iceman.
That didn't really happen, it was just in the movie. If you read the book, he didn't go on such an insane winning-then-losing-it-all-back streak like he did at the end of the film. That said, it did make for good cinema.Quote: MakingBookDan Mahowny experienced a hellish losing streak at the end of Owning Mahowny.

Blackjack - 4 Separate 20+ Consecutive losing hands in a one week period.
I'm still waiting and looking forward to see someone beat my dubious records.
Working on it!Quote: CrapsForeverCraps - 25+ Consecutive Losing Sessions over a 5 month period.

That is not necessarily a big deal, depending on how you bet. In particular, if you press on each winning bet, almost all your sessions will be losers.

Was channel surfing and came across Philip Seymour Hoffman
He always catches my eye due to his great acting
The movie is Owning Mahowny
What a movie and based on a true story
I picked this thread because this movie was mentioned
What an unusual thread, last 3 members nuked
I know about Buzz, why were Alan and Axiom nuked?

As I recall, Alan resigned, AoC self-nuked when the board was sold. I could be wrong.

Sounds correct to me. I believe Alan hit a couple $100k Royals lately, maybe he ended his annual losing streak. Looks like I finally will have a winning this year at CET since 2007.
Was early 2000s, so I've forgotten exactly. Think there was 1 push in 30 hands, with no winners.
At time I was trying a "if I lose first three hands, change tables" strategy, and I tried 10 tables at multiple casinos (3 hands each).
I was betting $5, so didn't lose much.
Good reason not to try Martingale systems.

I guess that is better than 10 hands at 3 tables. 30 in a row seems common. Next thing I will hear is that 18 yo's happened.

no winner in 30 is not the same as 30 losers in a row
