I haven't played that many places in Las Vegas, but at least at Four Queens and Casino Royale the dealers were fine with me laying the odds on my don't bet myself.
I asked if they wanted to do it or let me do it and they said, "We're fine with you doing it Sir. Whatever makes you happy."
What are other people's experiences?

You're right. I meant to say that about odds on a don't come bet, but it ended up in the wrong place. I just fixed it. Thanks for the correction.

No problem.
As a side note, dealers want don't pass odds placed in a certain way i.e.; the bottom chip beside your don't pass and all the rest of the chips leaning off the side of that bottom chip. Largest denomination chips at the bottom. The dealers will show you or fix up your bet if they're not happy with how they're placed.

My dealer's manuals, which are pretty old, talk about "bridging" the DP odds. With single odds, you place the amount of the flat bet next to the flat bet, then "bridge" the additional chip or chips. This way, the dealer can pay buying "sizing" twice into the flat bet.
For the 4 /10

etc.
Don't know whether they still do this in the age of 3,4,5X or higher odds.
Cheers,
Alan Shank

If I remember correctly, at the Plaza they put the odds on top of the don't pass bet, but about 25% off center. At the Fitzgeralds they are fine with putting the odds bet next to the don't pass bet.

Everyplace I have played will bridge the odds when it makes sense to do so, that is if you lay single odds. If lay more then this, they will want you to heal the bet. Don't worry about it, just try to do it the best you can and the dealer will fix it up and then you will see how it is done :)
