The drawback to playing video poker near the party pit without actually being in the party pit is that you can't have conversations with the dealers and you lose out on the intimate close-up view. But if you can accept these trade-offs, it's a low-cost alternative to the strip club.
Quote: WizardThe Golden Gate still has 3-2 Party Pit blackjack. I think you can sometimes find a seat at a bar with a direct view as well.
They also have $5 minimum if you don't mind a CSM. If you move up to $10, they do a hand shuffle, at least the last time I did a BJ survey there in early December.

I had actually made a note of this thread in my running "things to do in Vegas" document, as I was hoping to find a 3-2 party pit where I could enjoy the view and also count a little bit. Sidebar, my "things to do in Vegas" document usually accumulates more items than I actually cross off, as I get distracted once I show up and forget all about it in favor of just gambling and drinking.
Anyway, I actually hit up this party pit with some friends on my last trip; it was enjoyable even though we were at a $10 CSM game. I was catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a couple years, so I didn't mind just playing BS and enjoying some free drinks. The dealers were very personable and they actually rotated into the dancing stage too, which I hadn't seen. In my experience with Vegas party pits, usually the go-go dancing girls aren't also dealers.
I didn't think to do a pass around the tables to see if there was a non-CSM game that I could hit up later while counting, but props to GG for keeping their blackjack games legit even with the lovely ladies.
At this point, I only know about a couple party pits, but I'm going back in a few weeks, so will try to learn more. I also have never been off strip, but I plan to try D's and GG on my next trip. If anyone else has more to add I'd appreciate it (I'm going to try M-Life when I go there next time because my host at Caesars wouldn't take off the resort fee even though I played about 10 hrs of BJ at $25-$75/hand on my last two day trip).
Planet Hollywood
Called the Pleasure Pit. My favorite party pit. Almost all dealers in the party pit are very attractive, and most of them are very fun to play with. The area is right by high limit and you can see the "Pleasure Pit" circular signs from most any place in the casino. It's staffed 24 hours, but is only staffed by party pit dealers from 12 pm-4am (sometimes party pit dealers work during the 4am-12pm shift and they're required to where the party pit uniform, but this is rare and not their normal schedule).
They have go-go dancers at many areas of the party pit from 8 pm until approximately 2 am. To be honest, they seem like unfriendly people, and much less friendly than I've seen at other casinos in the past. I've heard the same from some of the dealers. They're dressed more provocatively than other go-go dancers so I guess they have that going for them, but just not personally my style. They also have go-go dancers around the bar so if you want to have a drink and not play, you can do that.
Every table has H17. Every table has no RSA. They have a couple single deck shoes that pay 6:5, no surrender, double on anything, DAS (except As), and I can't remember if they only let you split once or up to 4 hands. Minimum bet is $15. They have 6 tables closer to the HL area where you're not as close to the go-go dancers. Minimums there are $25. One table is DD, the rest are (IIRC) 6 deck. On DD, same rules as single, but 3:2. On the other ones, it's 3:2, allow surrender, and can split to 4 hands. All other rules are the same. That pit is much less crazy and you can have conversations with both the dealers and pit bosses pretty easily. IME, dealers there are more skilled, but that might just be a coincidence, I don't know how dealers are actually assigned.
Caesar's Palace
Recently changed dramatically. I don't know what it is renamed to, but it used to be called Pussycat Dolls. It now has more of an upscale vibe which I'm a big fan of. It's located right near the Sportsbook. I'm not familiar enough with the casino so I don't know what the part it is in is called, but it's also right next to the night club. I don't know what the hours are, but it's it's own thing, so it's either staffed with party pit dealers or its not open. It's at least open from 8 pm until 3 am (or when it starts to die down). This place has my favorite dealers, but the worst rules I think I've ever seen at a blackjack table.
Tables are H17, no RSA, DD on 10 and 11 only, no surrender, DAS allowed (except As), and I can't remember the number of hands you're allowed to split to. They play with 8 deck shoes. Minimums are either $15 or $25 depending on night/business. Except for one pit boss, I've found the pit bosses to be pretty rude, but they do have to deal with significantly more jerks because the dealers are generally prettier than other party pit dealers and the night club is right there.
If you're interested in people watching, this is the place to go. But they don't have go-go dancers anymore and the dealers aren't dressed as provocatively as they were or as they are at PH, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend PH as you'll get better odds there anyway.

That's all I have for now. I'll try to get more on my next trip. If anyone can add, I'd appreciate it.
Last I heard Hooters was a poorly managed casino with angry dealers, so maybe things have changed there.
3:2 and a Party Pit is nice; its like having a party pit and a good conversationalist. Vegas tends to view party pits as a "cleavage tax" but its nice to get 3:2 to boot.

I didn't experience any of those things at hooters last time I was there. Just like any other casino really.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for mostly when playing blackjack while drinking. I'll usually try to earn my comps and make some money during the day, then have a little more fun at night. I don't like clubs because I enjoy conversation more than dancing. I do remember having a conversation with one of the dealers from a casino after she finished her shift about how the casino requested that she wear a padded bra. It was kind of funny because she was maybe one of the most attractive people I have ever seen, but I'm not into breasts as much as other people maybe.
More seriously though, most are actually very good at making people have a fun time (no matter how they're dressed). I actually talked to a lady that was playing at the same table as me the last time I was there and just asked why she was there as these types of tables generally draw super creepy guys and she said she's never had more fun than with the dealers in the party pits. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to gorgeous women, but the fact that they also make things fun is a draw for probably 10-15% of the people playing there.

Hooters has a SD 3-2 D1011 game. Plaza no longer has a party pit, but LVC does with the 3-2 rules with DAS but no RSA/SUR, same with D and Golden Gate.
Quote: renoIf one's goal is to gamble while simultaneously ogling scantily clad attractive young women dancing provocatively, there is a place for this in many casinos: the party pit. The drawback to the party pit is that the rules suck (yucky 6:5 payouts on blackjacks) and the table minimums are typically high. But last night I found a video poker machine extraordinarily close to the dance stage at a party pit, and the unobstructed view was fantastic. Admittedly, the machine didn't have Nevada's most generous pay table, but it was still a better bet than 6:5 blackjack. Some gamblers need real money on the line (not just 25 cents) to enjoy their gambling, but I can appreciate small wagers so long as my cocktail waitress is fast, and last night she was.

You might as well lay out the 3 bills to get an unclad attractive young woman in your room for some provocation.
They even have a couple muscular male dealers for the ladies now...

I've always been curious, as I've never partaken... Do those cards that get handed out actually dial to the unclad attractive young girls you're mentioning? I would think Vegas police would just call every card and arrest every girl that shows up? ...or do the same to the John's?
